MrDuck
Imagine how bad you have to be at football to not get a contract with Central Coast "worst team in the A-league" Mariners, despite being worth squillions of dollars in marketing. Dr_Pangloss
He wanted $3m. This might be 'reasonable' commercially, but certainly isn't reasonable from a footballing perspective. I think the Marniers wanted to offer him something like $150k.
Zatman
Think he would have destroyed salary cap. I can see some rich, foolish owner take a punt on him
ozvillafan Posted November 2, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted November 2, 2018 As advertising he's probably worth what he is asking. As a footballer, $150K was very, very, very generous. Seems the Mariners want to play football more than being a sideshow. Good on 'em.

The goal against was a sucker punch and against the run of play. The substitutes looked good though.

Depends on your interpretation of the rule I guess . 3-4 were offside but Boyle (who wasn't) went in and challenged the keeper for the rebound (who just about had one hand on the ball) which then spilled to Luongo (who was originally offside) and he scored. I'm sure Charlie Austin thought it was a goal.

A loss and a Palestine win will see us finished last in the group, whilst if we both lose we'd possibly go through as a 3rd placed team. Pretty much spot on with your assessment. Ikonomidis (ex-Lazio) has been the standout performer for me thus far. Edited January 14, 2019 by Hornso
Hornso
3-2 win with goals from Mabil, Ikonomidis & Rogic. Mabil and Ikonomidis continuing their impressive form this tournament. Round of 16 versus with Japan (no thanks) or Uzbekistan (yes please) awaits, although with our weakened squad we'll have to be on our game regardless. LondonLax
We've had a couple of key injuries so I've not been expecting much this tournament but the emergence of Mabil and Ikonomidis has been nice to see.
