According to The Sun (spits) we've contacted Mad Mick but not brought him in for an interview XD

hopefully it was a courtesy call just to say "don't even think about it"

I'm getting properly pissed off with Dwight Yorke hanging around like a bad smell.

I've wondered more than once what he's been up to since retiring. An occasional tv pundit appearance......after dinner speaking too, perhaps ? Dunno if he has a sideline business or if he's just plain bored and wants in on the footy gravy train full time ? I mean, if Robbie Savage can get given a career in the media...!

I might be wrong but I have the feeling that apart from his skills on the pitch,  he is like so many retired footballers who have very little else in terms of talents and intelligence and thinks "Oh bugger - my money's running low....what do I do now ?"

Aston Villa new manager: Robert Pires has revealed who the club really want

Villa are on the lookout for a new boss after sacking Steve Bruce last week.

New owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris gave the veteran manager the boot with the Midlands giants floundering in mid-table in the Championship.

They’ve got the two-week international break to get a new man on board, and Jose Mourinho’s former assistant Faria looks to be the man for them.

But former Villa and Arsenal star Pires claims he’s not their first pick.

He’s revealed Gunners legend Thierry Henry is the man they really want.

“I recently met Nassef Sawiris at the Emirates during the match Arsenal-Watford and he told me about Thierry again, because he is convinced that it would be the right person to raise his club,” Pires told BeIN Sport.

“There is a great challenge there for Titi: to become the manager who brings them back to the Premier League ... there is a great story to write.”

“He (Sawiris) is a big fan of Arsenal and we are often in contact.

“(He) asked me for my opinion on Titi last July, when there had already been negotiations between the two parties. At the time I defended the candidacy of my friend."

Despite being top of Villa’s wishlist, Henry instead appears to be heading to Monaco.

Leonardo Jardim looks to be on his way out of the club, with their former star player Henry being linked with taking over.

The Arsenal legend is currently on international duty with Belgium in his role as assistant to Roberto Martinez.

Sky sports reporting Henry definitely coming so looks like that one definitely isn't happening.

My money is on faria- terry as the rumours suggest. I'd prefer Rodgers but I am assuming he isn't interested if we haven't talked with him at all.

Rodgers or Smith for me please.

No pleeeese?

Although Faria could be the Man, hope he don't upset players like Roy Keane did in the past, seems to have the same personality.

Also is he the one the players lose there head with when Mourino's end is near.

Never wanted that cheating Henry anyway. ;) Robbed Ireland of a World Cup spot in 2009 with that handball goal. The man is a cad and hasn't enough bottle to take a job that may prove too difficult for his liking. Time to move onto the Faria/Terry dream team!
