Transfer Window Summer 2018

If we don’t go up need utilise the free agent and low fees for decent pickups. I wanted on here Neil Etheridge, David Hoilett both Cardiff and they did brilliant last summer bringing in Etheridge and number of frees who have made them good team.

Also Daniel Bentley at Brentford he would have been a cracking bosman I know myself and few others on here suggested him.

If we mess this up we will get cherry picked apart this summer cos of FFP.

There are some good free agents in summer in lower leagues if ever came to it. Some with huge potential and good players I have watched a number of them attending games for St Mirren but will be out of our Wage Budget and many wouldn’t  be interested playing in Scotland

We need a whole new midfield.

Don;t Jedinak and Whelan, who are both past it and both on huge wages, both still have a year left on their deals? If so then we won't be getting a new midfield. Most likely the same midfield with Grealish and Landsbury gone and maybe two new midfielders.

There are a total of 140 players who are soon to be out of contract across the 24 clubs in the English second tier, including three ex-England internationals in Gabby Agbonlahor, John Terry and Michael Dawson.

Moses Odubajo, Abel Hernandez, Ryan Fredericks, Andreas Bjelland & Teddy Bishop stand out for me as solid squad signings.

Yes, I felt we should have looked at him back then but he has since been voted London goalkeeper of the year so I guess Brentford would want big money for him now.

We were scouting him in January I believe. Not sure if he was a back up for Grabban or we were looking at him for the summer.

He plays a lot deeper. I think he'd be a really good option, he has a lot of ability.

I think Nick Powell would be a good signing.

We could have had Powell on a bosman last summer now Wigan will want over £10mil for. We need to be a lot more clever when it comes to signings as some cracking Bosmans every summer

You've had scouts watching Joe Bryan a few times this year, so I'd like to be the first to say- hands off!

Apparently we are valuing him at £15m which is an awful lot for a LB, albeit one who is more than capable as a LM as well.

I can't see him leaving unless to a Prem side, so would likely depend on you going up.

Everton have been linked with him too, but they've been getting linked to him for the last 4 years.

He was also scouted by Southampton a few years ago, but nothing came of it.

Paper talk is that Bruce has sent Tony Coton to watch 36 year old ex Middlesbrough and Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones who now plays in Dutch Eredivisie.

He was awful when playing over here  hopefully it’s only rumours.

Sending scouts to Holland, to scout a 36 y.o Englishman...

A bit like traveling to Tsucany to eat at McDonalds.

Hopefully it's just a rumor.

Except he's Australian. :P

I wonder whether Hammill and Dawson might also be worth a look depending on which division we find ourselves in.
