Sounds like we made hard work of it, but we don’t get results by previous form or stats on paper.

The substitutions put us on the back foot. I don't like Onomah at all. Hourihane looked a bit tired, Thor decent again. 

Our quality lies in Chester, Terry, Adomah, Grealish and Snodgrass. And delighted that Hogan has scored again. Grealish was my MOTM, he makes us tick, he's starting to perform to his potential. 

Overall a professional performance with a bit of complacency creeping in towards the end. 

The referee was flipping awful, not often I will accuse a referee of bias, but he genuinely seemed to want to punish Villa today. 

Let's make it 7 on the spin.

I think we saw the good bad and ugly of Villa all in one game. 

Firstly credit to Burton. They really tried to play just lacked quality. First 20 minutes we were poor and sloppy. 

The goal was quality and after that we played some really good stuff at times. Superb one touch football. 

Grealish was good as always and delighted he got his goal. Albert was much better and the player we know he can be. 

Now this is the baffling part. We are in complete control of a game and you take of 2 of the best players off so early in the game and totally change the dynamics of the team.

This along with a ridiculous decision by the ref and of a course a howler of an own goal let them back in the game. 

Credit to Elmo for keeping his head and making the goal. 

Finally Grealish motm is too easy. I think apart the mistake which they should have had a penalty for I Thor was superb and my motm. He was absolutely everywhere and really does give so much energy to the team. 

Well done on the three points.

We were unplayable for much of the match. Pity two very sloppy goals took the gloss off it.

There were some great performances and MOTM could have gone to any of Grealish, Bjarnarson, Snodgrass, Hutton or Adomah, but in the end it's Grealish that really gets this team ticking, capped off with a lovely goal and should have won us the penalty that would have iced the game for us. There's no doubt in my mind that our brilliant run has been closely connected to Bruce building the way we play around him.

Speaking of Bruce, a couple of truly mystifying subs really invited Burton back into the game. He could have taken off Snoddy OR Albert not both. Taking off both really just invited them onto us and put us under pressure.

And as for that ref - there are no words ...

Noticeably it was the defensive minded substitutions that almost cost us this win. Taking off of our more  attack minded players and replacing them with more defensive minded players at home to rock bottom Burton was a totally unfathomable decision.

Happy to have got the 3 points, good spread of goals from 3 attacking players. Ref was on a different planet at times. Wasn’t to impressed by the substitutions but thought that was due in part to a poor bench selection. Bring on next Sunday to see if we can make it lucky 7.

Unlike a lot of others on here I wasn't thinking we had an easy ride today at all, and it showed. Burton like to keep the ball and play it around well which they did. We were forced to counter at times which suits us quite nicely with our outlets of Grealish, Snodgrass and Adomah. I was pleased with how well we pressed Burton when they were in possession. It's the simplest tactic to getting the ball back yet is so often not carried out by teams. We scored our second at a very good time as the game was very stretched and open and Burton were providing a real threat. I thought we'd cruise from that point but we let them back in with an absolutely ridiculous own goal. I have absolutely no idea at all what Elmohamady was thinking by blasting the ball into the roof of our net. It was a moment of madness. We should've been three goals to the good before that calamity arrived as it looked a dead certain penalty when Jack was felled. I was then a nervous wreck worrying that Grealish would pick up a second yellow and miss next week's massive derby game. Was great to see Grealish score his first of the season. That's the one side to his game that's been missing. Once again he drove forward so well and offers us something no one else does in our team with his constant positivity, unpredictable play, great craft and skill in going forwards. Hogan seems to thrive on having a player like Jack, which is what a lot of us were thinking in the days when we were hoofing the ball in the air to Hogan knowing full well he needs players around him threading balls through. I think we got complacent after our third goal and got sloppy too resulting in the game running out a lot closer than it perhaps need to be and certainly a lot more nervous than it needed to be.

With Cardif and Derby both wining it was important we kept up the pace with those two by winning, which we did. So I'm pleased. We have no devine right to wipe away teams who are bottom of the league and Burton gave us a tough game today. Ultimately it's the result that matters so I'm very pleased we got the three points we needed. Onwards to blues next week.

As much as I didn't like the substitutions, I don't think you can say the subs made any real difference to our threat or our defensiveness. After the subs we scored a great goal with one player further forwards setting it up who had previously been in defence. 

Basically, I don't agree at all. I think Elmohamady nailing the ball into the top corner for no reason almost cost us a win if you want to be picky. 

Having said that, I think they were the wrong substitutions. I'd have taken Hogan off without a doubt. He might be scoring but he really doesn't do anything else whatsoever. I'm no fan.
