Not decided on our main holiday yet. Might stay in Europe. as you mentioned it with Croatia I suspect you are looking at Mostar day trip rather than Sarajevo ? but if you can I'd recommend Sarajevo ... it's not massive so you can see most of it in a half day walk ... and then there is a bit more interesting stuff on the edge of town , the Olympic village , the airport tunnel etc ... depending on who you are going with and their interests / attention span then Fall of Yugoslavia tour is very interesting .. I paid a bit more and did a private tour and included Tito's Bunker on the same day .. was a very long day but still at a pace that I had a few beer stops along the way and saw everything I wanted to ( and a lot more)
Wainy316
Currently only got Dublin and Copenhagen booked. Two new countries though. I've wanted to do the Sarajevo/Mostar combo for a while so might add that.

Yes ...and No Chisinau Nightlife is pretty poor .. I reckon you'd see more night life in the Vatican , there are plenty of bars open all night but nothing really happening , no live bands etc ... the Sat night we were there they did one of those colour festival things and it ended at 23:00 and by 23:15 everyone had gone home .. we were still out to 5am but it was a case of making our own entertainment really but the day trip To Transnistria was really enjoyable ... bit of history on the "conflict" and some interesting Russian stuff even got a brewery tour whilst we were there ..forget health and safety , we just wandered around with our guide nowhere was off limits ... and you get some samples to taste of course On the Sat , we went and saw FC Zimbru play ... Bus journey to the ground was about 20p for 6 of us , match ticket was about £1 (each) and the sports bar near the ground was a stein of beer for about £1.20 ... so it's cheap and interesting but lacks the liveliness of a party town like Sopot or Balaton ... was still a great weekend for us but I think you'd have to know what your mates like before deciding to go

So we'd be flying to there and then take a day trip out to Mostar etc
Nath182
I've just booked to go to Disneyland Paris with the family, it's the first Disney experience for my missus and both our boys so should be pretty exciting! Got a stag do in Berlin booked, a week in Centre Parcs and also planning to go somewhere for my 30th with some mates (hopefully Munich).

And I reeeeeeeeeally want to go to Oman. Sure my travel hombre @tonyh29 can give some pointers on some of the above... I sure can Georgia is the only place I’ve been to where on arrival they stamp your passport at immigration and then give you a bottle of wine to say welcome Tbilisi is quite pretty few good look out points and a cable car down the mountain , various buildings and tall soviet type statues and what not ... some form of fun fare on the top of the hill that we ended up at , fun way to kill some time with the locals ...and of course Dynamo Tbilisi stadium , no tours but we just walked in and had a look around until someone chased us out there is a seaside resort called Kutaisi that could be worth checking out if you have time we then went to Armenia by car from Tbilisi , took around 4 hours if I recall , visa on arrival at the border took about 30 mins with the queue ( we coped a coach load of kiwis in front of us that slowed us down ) Yerevan was a pleasant surprise , quite a lot of bars and restaurants for the night time but tour wise we did a long day which took in Mt Arat and then some monestary accessed by the worlds longest cable car or something ... google wings of Tatev for more info city tour was some soviet war museums , no word of a lie when she found out where we were from the guide in the war museum asked if England was involved in WW2 at all !!! Very interesting though be warned they are big on monestaries in Armenia so if you book any trips be sure to check how many they are proposing ... we did 4 on our day trip and to be fair they were all worth the trip ( one of them is the stop for the view onto Mt Arat , one is the destination for Wings of Tatev , the other 2 were carved out of rock half way up mountains so it was more about the hike to them ) but I think there were about 672 more we could have seen !! next day we got a car to take us to lake Sevan where we chilled out in the sun , drunk beer , swam in the lake etc ... dinner was caught and then BBQ’d by the owner of the bar we were in great place .. I can probably dig out the tour agency we used that did everything for us on that leg if you are interested Azerbaijan - I flew in there on my way home from Iran ...Baku has all the oil excess of Dubai ... and all the poverty of the North of England wrapped up in one town.... I stayed in the flame hotel , expensive but worth the splurge , though as it’s on top of a bloody great hill you soon regret the choice walking up and down 100’s of steps over and over again The flame is all lit up at night so best to view it from the town... tbh i didn’t do any tours just hopped on the metro ( a challenge in its own right buying a ticket ) and looked at things that looked interesting ... the area dedicated to the people that died in the uprising is quite moving ( near the flame hotel so no avoiding those bloody steps ) few days will be more than enough in Baku , though you can head out and explore some wildlife I believe ( don’t know if they’ve built the casino island yet ? ) Baku was also home to the strangest night I’ve ever experienced , it kicked off in this restaurant I was in and 2 people went outside and started brawling , then others joined in , then someone else went outside and demanded they apologise to his wife so all these bloodied men came in and apologised to her , but clearly weren’t sincere enough as the husband then proceeded to punch 2 of them , then it spilled back out into the street ... then the police turned up and everyone then started beating them up so they left , then the owner of the restaurant came out and started fighting with some of them ... meanwhile i just sat there eating my dinner and having a beer with a bemused looknon my face unsure if i was supposed to get up and punch someone or risk offending them ... was like one of those cowboy movie scenes you see !! Mexico - only been to Mexico City but for day trips head out to Teotihuacán ( maybe an hour from Mexico City ) ... we climbed the pyramids but I believe they have stopped that now .... also look for a place called Xochimilco , it’s a boat trip where Mexican mariachi bands follow you as you slowly cruise on the river ... but the trees on the route are all adorned with dolls ... it’s weird , just weird ... but fun it seemed safe in Mexico City but that said our hotel did have armed guards outside it so be careful where you stay and at night times Oman - worlds biggest mosque is worth a look , built by Carillon as in bankrupt company in the news at the mo ... one of my mates from school helped build it other than that we mainly sat on the beach , scuba dived and went dolphin watching ... and caught up with VT’s very own Awol as he was living there at the time ( Mrs H felt like she was watching Brokeback mountain apparently as we chatted about Villa and shit , we’d never actually met before at that point ) there is probably more to Oman than that though Costa Rica - I’ve not been , it’s on the todo list so I’ll await some tips when you get back Edited January 17, 2018 by tonyh29
villa4europe
If you had 8 hours in Mexico City airport would you risk popping in to town to see s bit and grab something to eat?

Wasn’t a great deal in the actual town though from memory ... the main square ( as seen in Spectre ) is quite lively and interesting but the stuff I mentioned previously was further out and you might not have time

mikeyp102
I’m off to Peru in July. Very active, hiking, cycling and canoeing. Taking in Rainbow Mountains, Machu Picchu and the Amazon. Going with a travel group for the first time so will be interesting to see how it goes. Managed to persuade a couple of the lads to eventually renew their passport so hoping to get to Barcelona and watch a game towards the end of the year.
