I've a fair few mates that work in theatre, and they used to dread when they booked Doddy. Mainly due to the fact that he would play way longer than he was booked for. He used to play up to two hours after he was supposed to come off. Great for value for money for his audience, bad for the people working in the theatre, gagging for a pint after work!
