So what would you do?

Recommended Posts

My thoughts are clear

Bruce out

But what happens then?

So here‘s what I‘d do.

I‘d ask BL IT to take temporary charge with JT as assistant

I‘d go through the coaches and check who does what and how good (or bad) they do it.

I‘d then clear out one by one.

I‘d get on to Round to draw up lists of who is available (managers coaches)

Then I‘d re-employ Steve Hollis to gather info of how to go forward

I‘d keep Wyness and Round for now to  do admin and work load - no decisions from them and see how the temporary team goes.

Any backchat or shit from anyone and they are out the door.

I honestly think that when Hollis came in, he simply got people in who were good, were honest and had integrity. Wyness & Bruce appear to be „Jobs for the boys - in it for the money - f*** the results“ I‘d seriously consider re-hiring Bernstein, King, Hollis and Steve stride.

I think the Dr has to go at this 2 fold.

1 - Our season is not lost. We have the players to get in the playoffs. we need a manager to keep us in there with a style of football that at least gives us a fighting chance in the playoffs against 2 teams who are good enough to finish 3rd-6th. Even 2nd may not be „gone“ with a new boss. 2nd->8th is gone with Bruce.

2 - work on a blue print for long term success NO more quick fixes.

I would also be a bit dastardly. F**** it we have nothing to lose. Let it publicly „slip out“ that we have a short list of Warnock, Rowett, Lee Johnstone, ShefU (name please?) Dean Smith. Lets rock the boat a bit, stir some shit, de-rail our rivals. Once we‘ve sacked Bruce we‘ll be Media public enemy nr 1 anyway, so F**** ‚em. Give em sommat to write about.

This is a great chance for someone with a concept, philosophy and Balls.

We are Villa

I'm with you on sacking Bruce. But replacing him with 2 guys that have been out of the game for 20yrs would be suicide. It didn't work for great man himself (Graham Taylor), and it wouldn't work with Little.

Dean Smith or Lee Johnson would both be huge upgrades on Bruce and i believe both would crawl through shit for Villa job.

I'd also be intrigued to how JT would do. I wonder with a transfer window approaching how the Chelsea youth team would fair in the Championship? :P

And if your new appointments fails, would you swallow your pride? ;)

That really isnt the point.

In my job I‘m the boss. I dont have a 100% appointment success record, it‘s not humanly possible. But as a boss you keep making decisions till you either get it right or go out of business. I‘m still hanging in there over 25 years later

I‘m only interested in BL as an immediate solution whilst we find a new manager

We don't want Villa to go out of business. You might have to support Blues.

With all due respect this is why nobody listens to us fans.

see above

So who runs things for the next game then (in 2 days) ?

Clements, Calderwood or Agnew

Well yes they would.

Those 3 aren't going to come in and transform the team in 2 days.

It will be same old shit for several months regardless of changes. Nothing changes that quickly in football.

If I was going to make a change now I would gamble on Dean Smith and his back room staff with the acceptance that promotion isn't going to happen this season.

The second half of the season will be purely planning for next.

Are the dr plans are as ambitious as he claims or is it just lip service to appease a fractured fanbase after the last owners **** ups..... I'm not seeing the ambition... plenty of attainable names of the list below given the right ambition... Bisella would be the dream !

I think you're misunderstanding what Hollis does - if you're suggesting we sell the club, then by all means bring him in, that's what he does and what he did for us. He didn't organise the club, he didn't have an input on footballing matters, he wasn't interested in making the club run better, he was there to make sure it sold - an estate agent, not a builder.

I said before bruce was appointed, and my opinion remains the same, that Tony Xia strikes me as someone that would love a Villa fan in charge.

I think (sadly) that we have missed the boat with Rowett, but i think Dean Smith would be high up any short list should we be in the market anytime soon.

I'm also a fan of Billic. I know it didn't work out at West Ham but its incredibly difficult working for porno dwarf. Its pretty common knowledge that board is in charge of recruitment.
