Matched Betting & Betting Offers with Matchedbets.com

Hello everyone,

We’ve been talking with the guys here at VillaTalk and thought it may be beneficial to all to start a new discussion on matched betting.

For those who have been around here for a while, you may have participated in the matched betting thread that was active around a year ago. We’d like to continue that discussion, as it was quite popular, as well as introduce ourselves and the services that we provide at MatchedBets.com .

WHAT IS MATCHED BETTING?

For those of you who weren’t around for the previous thread or haven’t heard of matched betting, I’ll briefly explain what it is.

Matched betting is a method of extracting profit from free bets and bonuses given by bookmakers. The majority of bookmakers offer a free bet to new customers, but to receive this free bet you have to first place a bet with your own money. With matched betting, you cover this initial bet by also betting on it not to win. You then repeat this process of placing a bet, this time with the free bet you have received and again bet on it not to win. As you are using the free bet this time and not your own money, you can return an overall cash profit of around 80% of the free bet value which you can then withdraw.

There are hundreds of free bets available worth over £1,000, with new ones being given out by bookmakers on a daily basis and so there is a constant stream of profits that can be made.

WHO ARE MATCHEDBETS.COM?

MatchedBets launched in August of 2016 as a matched betting service with the aim to provide clear guides, the latest profitable bookmaker offers and high-end matched betting tools to help our members generate a profit from the many free bets and bonuses given by bookmakers.

We’ve developed all of our matched betting tools in-house and have taken inspiration from existing tools and strived to improve on them. Here are some features of MatchedBets which we feel benefit our members the most.

  1. Clear step-by-step guides on how to profit from every bookmaker offer we list. We update MatchedBets every morning with the latest bookmaker offers for the day.
  2. A fully mobile-optimised site allowing users to do matched betting on the move or away from their PC.
  3. Live chat support on top of email support and our forum. Available 7 days a week.
  4. The odds in our odds matcher and calculator update in real time as they fluctuate on the exchange and bookmaker sites, meaning no page refreshes are needed to check the odds haven't changed before placing bets.
  5. Our unique bet tracker tool tracks all bet activity automatically. This keeps track of profits and displays them in the users account. This feature means no more keeping track of your bets with spreadsheets.
  6. Our ACCA tool 'AccaBackers' is considered by some as one of the best on the market. The tool compiles the best value ACCAs for each acca insurance offer and for various laying methods.
  7. We have an excellent new Horse Racing Matcher tool which makes profiting from horse racing offers easier and quicker than ever.
  8. Over 60 new customer offers, and loads of reload offers which are updated daily as well as a number of casino and bingo offers.
  9. Widest selection of football offers including Enhanced Odds, Moneyback Offers and loyalty offers.
  10. Attractive subscription packages of only £14/m or £99/yr.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR VILLATALK MEMBERS

Click here to try MatchedBets Premium for £1

We’re hoping to get a good discussion started here so if you have any questions on MatchedBets or matched betting in general, please just ask and one of the team will be on hand to reply. It would also be helpful for members who have previously done matched betting to join in the discussion and to share your experiences and how you found it.

We'll also be posting some good offers in the thread so it would be good to subscribe and check back often to make the most of them.

Thanks for reading and let’s make this a useful thread for all.

Thanks limpid for the welcome.

I thought it might be useful to give an example of how you can make a profit from a typical free bet.

Offer: Ladbrokes offer a £50 free bet to new customers who register and place their first bet of £50.

Step 1: Your qualifying bet.

The aim of this first step is to place an initial bet in order to receive your free bet from Ladbrokes.

Let's say we placed our £50 bet on Villa to beat Middlesbrough at odds of 2.0

To cover our bet, we need to also bet on Villa NOT to beat Middlesbrough. This is called a lay bet. You can place lay bets on betting exchanges such as Betfair.

Using the matched betting calculator available on MatchedBets.com, it says we need to place a £51.28 bet on Villa NOT to beat Middlesbrough.

image.png.7a20605087ddfe7d4839cb09821fbd32.png

Result:

If Villa win, we profit £50 from the bookmaker but have lost £51.28 at the exchange = - £1.28

If Villa don't win (lose or draw), we lose our £50 to the bookmaker but profit £48.72 on Betfair.

So,  whatever the result of the match,  we will lose £1.28.

However, we now have a £50 free bet!

Step 2: Using your free bet to return a profit

Let's say this time we place our £50 free bet on Villa to beat Wolves at odds of 5.0

Again, we need to cover our bet in case it doesn't come in and so we place a bet on Villa NOT to beat Wolves.

Using the matched betting calculator again, we enter our stakes, the odds and let it know we're using a free bet this time.

We place our lay bet of £40.40 at Betfair as the calculator shows.

image.png.3c4da106c8951d8796e5efb98f609f63.png

Result:

If Villa beat Wolves, we make a profit of £200 at the bookmaker and have lost £161.60 at Betfair = £38.40 profit

If Villa don't beat Wolves, we lose nothing at the bookmaker as we were using a free bet but make a profit of £38.38 at Betfair.

TOTAL PROFIT

We made a loss of £1.28 with our qualifying bet but made a profit of £38.39 with our free bet. Giving an overall profit of £37.11 from this offer.

There are over 60 of these signup offers listed on MatchedBets, as well as daily offers for members who have completed them.

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but what's the actual service you offer?  I used to do matched betting a few years ago, and it was as easy as putting the promotional bet on with Ladbrokes or whoever, then laying it off on Betfair.  I had a simple spreadsheet that calculated the odds and payouts etc.  Do you help with the Betfair odds bit, as I seem to recall that was a bit of a faff, finding something with the right odds and enough liquidity.

There are a number of features and tools at MatchedBets that make matched betting easier, quicker and more profitable.

  1. We find the offers for you. You can work your way through the 60+ sign up offers to build up a good-sized bank and then move onto the reload offers. We update the site every morning with new offers for the day.
  2. Our odds matcher finds the closest matches for your bets. Finding the closet matches results in maximum profits and the difference can be huge compared to finding your own matches.
  3. Our matched betting calculator works out your lay stakes for you with the click of a button. Yes, there are spreadsheets that can calculate your lay stakes but we have multiple settings in the calculator for various bet types such as free bet, free bet on win/loss, bonus on win/loss, enhanced odds as free bets etc. There are a lot of promotions that have bonuses that can be difficult to get your head around. The calculator does all that hard work for you.
  4. Other matched betting tools - Our AccaBackers tool finds the best value accumulators for acca insurance offers and calculates your lay stakes using various methods. There is a lot of profit to be made from these offers and AccaBackers makes profiting from them a breeze. We've also recently released our Horse Racing Matcher tool which finds the best matches for the days horse racing offers. Again, these can be very profitable and the tool makes completing the offers quick and easy.

How much does it cost after the 7 day trial?

If i've already got many bookie accounts already open, how much extra stuff do you cover which can help make money?

After the 7 day trial, a monthly subscription is £14. The 7 days for £1 trial should give you a good taste of matched betting and allow you to complete a few offers and make a decent profit.

Considering the profit to be made, £14 a month is a snip. We list offers each day such as 'Bet £10, get £10', which you can do in your spare time and total them up for the month. The last few months profit total have been:

August: £604.50

September: £541.50

October: £457.50

November: £585.50

However, these profits don't include any 'potential profit' offers such as Paddy/.Bet365 2up, horse racing refund offers,  accumulator insurance offers and many more which can all the extremely profitable.

As mentioned, there are over 60 sign up offers listed. However, there is still A LOT of profit to be made after completing these. In fact, a lot of people actually see better results with the reload offers as some of them, like the ones listed above, can bring in very big profits and are available daily.

Just to balance out the fact that VT is now sponsored by a betting/gambling company and has a stickied thread at the top of the page:

Dont do it peeps, it’s a spiral in one direction and as a whole only ever makes the companies rich not you. Seriously consider what you are doing before signing up and taking part.

It's not gambling, you should give a proper read up into matched betting.  To be fair I have trouble getting people to believe me.

I have told loads of people about it, they can't be arsed! I have been doing it for 18 months and gone part time at work. I'm already £655 up in December. It's a no brainer for me

Yeah @Ingram85 it’s not as you make out. Of course if someone is addicted to gambling, then this would be a risky thing for them to get into, because the temptation is there. However, matched betting is not gambling, and I’d imagine that most matched betting sites will be pushing that line very firmly and steering their customers away from gambling, because as soon as they do (and they inevitably lose money), they’ll either stop paying for the matched betting service or give the company bad reviews because they lost money.

I can vouch for how profitable matched betting is (although, if anyone wants to start it, I do personally recommend Profit Squad, who I do it with..... and not just because I’ll get a small amount of commission if you join via me). I did it from April 2016 to April 2017 and made roughly £7,500. I stopped for a few months, and then started again in July/August and have, so far, made another £4k. It’s no scam, as long as you do it properly, follow the strategies and also put in the time. (Obviously people can put in less time, and their profits will be lower - but profits nonetheless)

It does amaze me, the amount of people I’ve told about it, and how much tax-free money I’ve made, who have just said “Can’t be arsed, sounds like a lot of effort”.

Sometimes it is an effort, but then most of the time it’s just second nature and takes you half an hour of your day. Something so simple (and at times, fun), has paid for half of my wedding & honeymoon, a new laptop, a UK city break, 2 engagement rings (she didn’t like the first one <_<), an £800 chinchilla vet bill, a new boiler, a kindle for the Mrs, my Snes classic mini and is currently sitting at £3-4K as my ‘new baby fund’ (due in May).

Imagine how much monotonous (and taxed) real work I would have had to do to pay for all that shite!

Since been with ProfitSquad over 18 months I have had 3 holidays, just booked a 4th and gone part time at work. I spend about 2 hours a day at it. My target each month is 1k which I hit no problem, I have had a few £3k-£4k months along the way too when the casino's have been kind to me.

I love it, the big horse races can be a bit of a slog at times but very profitable and I find everything else is fairly easy once you get into it.

I'm glad I started it B)

I did Profit Squad for a while but found it hard to make money once the sign up offers had ended. Plus I got stung on slots/casinos a few times. In the end, the effort just didn’t seem worth it to make the profit I was making.

I know some people have had good returns from matched betting etc though. I do believe people when they talk about how they made thousands of pounds in profit, but I just couldn’t see how people were doing it from my own experience.

Maybe I should give it another go.

It works, doing all the sign ups is actually pretty easy and you can easily make over 1k from them. I still try and hit the various other regular offers when i have time at the weekend, although i find it a bit of a slog sometimes as they don't tend to be as lucrative as the signups. I do tend to risk some of freebets on the horses, which has actually worked out well (and is more fun to me).

KHV i'm impressed you are making that much, you must be hitting every offer going, and you will have done well if you have managed to remain unrestricted at all the bookies!

No not really. In December I hit over £400 on an extra places race which I dutched. I have done about 8 casino offers which have made me over £200 so I'm sitting at £650 so far this month from sod all effort. I have another guaranteed £160 to come from bet clubs over the next two weeks plus there are some more horse races coming up before the new year. Should easily beat 1k and I have been pretty lazy by my standards!

Being part time helps me massively as I have more time than most.

I would not have these profits had I not jacked full time employment. I went part time in April.

Best thing I ever did!
