I think go the same, roughly, as we did against Wigan and to hell with it if we lose.

                           Steer

Bree       Elphick       Clark         De Laet

Gardner  Doyle-Hayes O'Hare  Thor

               Hogan     RHM

Assuming RHM is fit again now? I would keep Adomah fresh for Forest and go with the above.

Gardner isnt with us anymore. Id play adomah for a half for Gardner

But i am all for playing a very weak side. Dont care if we go out. Forest is the big one for me.

Oh yeah! Ha ha, I forgot all about him going. Unless you means he's dead in which case I hadn't heard.

Weak side all the way, tell the lads to go out and earn a start for the weekend... but if we lose we lose and that's the end of that. Then league focus for the rest of the year.

Id like us to play 442 here to help with the continuancy of the first 11 setup!

The system seems to suit us, so it would be useful to see how the fringe players cope using it.

Is that like continuity only where only the shit bits stay the same? :)

We have played Boro 4 times in the League Cup winning every one of those games (1-0 (h) in 1994, 3-2 (h) in 1990, 1-0 (h) & 1-0 (a) both in 1987). Promotion has to be our priority but if we can make it 5 League Cup wins on the trot and march into the last 16 then so be it!

I would start with Steer, Bree, De Laet, Elphick, Clark, Doyle-Hayes, O'Hare, Jedinak, Lansbury, Bjarnason & Hogan.

I want to see a full strength team v Forest on Sat.

So cup team for me would be

                        Steer

      Elmo Elphick Samba RDL

                         Jedi

Snodgrass Lansbury Hayes-Doyle

                  O'Hare Hogan

v Forest

                    SJ

Bree Chester Terry Taylor

                 Whelan

Adomah Onomah Hourihane

           Davis  Kodjia

Both teams should win if setup and told to dominate

NOTE - If Hayes-Doyle is not comfortable on the left -> Thor

Steer

Bree Elphick Samba RDL

Jedi Lansbury

Gabby O'Hare Bjarnasson

Hogan

It would be nice to play a few more kids but we have senior pros getting paid good money that need minutes. I am more than happy for squad rotation and keeping everyone fit for Saturday but make no mistake, I want us to win this game. I want us to progress.

It'll be interesting to see how strong we go here.  I can't imagine he'll fill it with kids, because he'll be aware that a winning momentum is a good thing regardless of competition, but there'll definitely be changes.  I'd expect O'Hare to start and Doyle-Hayes to feature.  Another run-out for De Laet & Steer.  I'd be surprised if we go as weak on paper as we went against Wigan.
