Dr_Pangloss Posted August 20, 2017 Author Share Posted August 20, 2017 (edited) I love it, but I'm finding the special stages (chaos emeralds) really hard, so far the best I can do is 3 emeralds, and that 3rd stage took like 20 attempts. I would say they're fairly difficult to control, but there's probably a trick to them I'm missing. The final stage really is worthy of a 'final stage', very challenging first time around and I love how the final boss tips it's hat to Gun Star heroes' Dice Palace. The_Rev Posted August 24, 2017 Share Posted August 24, 2017 I picked this up too, I'm a child of the 80s and had a Megadrive when Sonic first came out so it's a total nostalgia trip for me. I never owned any Sonic game after Sonic and Knuckles on the Megadrive so I've missed all the ones that are supposed to be awful but this one is anything but. I like it a lot, it feels exactly like a 16 bit game, they even nailed the art style. There are a few extra frames of animation which couldn't be done on the Megadrive and the backgrounds are definitely a cut above.
