           Steer

Bree Elphick Samba Amavi (unless being sold)

         Onomah Lansbury

Elmohadamy Hourihane Green

                Hogan

Give Hourihane the chance to stake the number 10 position, hopefully get Hogan to score to build his confidence. Rest whelan and Terry

We have only ever played Colchester in the League Cup and although we have lost once in these three games that was not enough to send us out because although we lost 2-0 in 1979 we had won the home game by the same score (with 2 goals from Gary Shaw) and went on to win on penalties. Our first game against them was a 2-1 win in 1975 at Layer Road with our goals coming from Ray Graydon and Alan Little.

We need to start winning games away from home (even on SKY) so this might be a good time to start.

It was a bit of a marathon shootout from memory - something like 11-10

Difficult for me to put Luton out of my mind for this one. David and Goliath live and exclusive on Sky Sports... with Aston Villa fielding a sensibly changed side to level the playing field somewhat. Locals relishing their early season Cup Final waving their half and half scarves etc etc.

As has been said... what could possibly go wrong?

The Villa of the previous years would **** this right up, time to show we've turned a corner.

This is exactly where my head is at. This is a game where we should control it from the start and win comfortably 2 or 3 nil.. if we have in fact turned a corner.

A win would do our confidence some good before we head to Cardiff & Reading.

-------------------- Johnstone ----------------

Hutton --- Chester --- De Laet--- Amavi

Elmo---Onomah---Hourihane---Green

------------- Hogan ---------- Gabby----------

Empty the subs bench then as needs be

I'm dreading this.

You just know that Bruce will rest Terry, Whelan and Elmo for this.

Maybe Hutton, Chester, Taylor, Lansbury and Hogan too.

I think he may give Steer a run out (if not injured) Bree, Amavi & Samba too. Playing Richards would be a sackable offence.

Bacuna - if he fancies a wind up, yes (sackable offence too)

So I think he'll go

Steer

Bree Chester(Richards) Samba Amavi

Hutton Gardner Hourihane Green

Onomah

Gaby

-------------

I'd go best team (Subs in brackets)

                            Steer

Bree Chester Terry (Samba) Taylor

                    Whelan

Elmo             Lansbury(Hourihane)         Green

            Hogan           Gaby(McC)

We need to hammer these for confidence and the feelgood factor for everybody at the club.

Lose -> P45
