This will end just 84 goals off our usual 85-0 win for me. We need to win this one along with the 45 league games that follow it!

Hull's one and only win at Villa Park came 50 years ago in November 1967 when 2 goals from Brian Greenhalgh were not quite enough to prevent our 3-2 defeat in front of a crowd of 19,875. We have won our last 7 home games against Saturday's visitors and long may that winning run (that began with a 6-0 win in August 1974) continue.

I would play Hogan up top with gabby just behind

Gabby has a lot of experience in that position so should do well there.:)

If we are serious about promotion we need to be winning convincingly against rubbish like Hull.

Well, I agree we should be winning.

But "convincingly against rubbish like Hull" is a bit far. They've come down from the Prem. I think they'll be amongst the strongest teams in the league this season (although not in the top 4 or 5)

Agreed.

Tbh winning this game won't tell us if we are ready to win the league.

A win would be nice though!

Really looking forward to this match, more so than I can remember - they're a club in a similar negative mindset to us when we went down, only without the new ownership and big spending.

They're a club on the way down and we've got to hit them hard from the off.

I'd be happy with a win and a shit performance.

Not if it's a sign of things to come though.

It's easier to turn bad performances in to bad results than it is to turn good performances in to good results.

Roll on Saturday, so sick of the Summer.

I think it'll be tough but we'll beat Hull... my prediction is 1-0. Hogan score in 5th min then backs to the wall for the next 85min. But I would snatch an arm off if offered now.
