Stevo985 Posted September 16, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted September 16, 2017 Not amazing today but a brilliant cross for Davis' goal. Hutton hasn't delivered a cross like that in all his time at the club.
VillaChris
Been critical of him in his early games but that was more the manager selecting him in the attacking third. No issue with him being at RB from what I've seen in the last week. Great cross for the third.

rodders0223
If he plays he plays there. I never want to see him as a winger ever again. Playing deep he can run in support and step on the ball when we are in advanced areas and deliver. Playing advanced he can not do that, he has to beat his man or get us up the pitch himself. He cannot do that.

Yep, he was solid and offers something going forward. He was very good attacking in midweek as well but thought it was a hard match to judge him on given our defence was untested most of the night. benireduk
Was that a right back putting in a decent cross that resulted in a goal?!? That will never catch on.
poitier
He did ok today, I'm not really a fan of him as a defender, and he was incredibly lazy at tracking back after he had gone forward, but he wasn't tested too much defensively and should benefit from linking up with Snodgrass again. Dr_Pangloss
If he's going to play it has to be at right back, simply not good enough for midfield. At this level we should be able to get away with a more attack minded right back.
Nigel Posted September 17, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted September 17, 2017 Him being at right back does seem to give us a bit more options going forward, and with 2 clean sheets it works defensively too. surely the best option we have there! ....we really need to lose a few right backs in the next window though.
Keener window-cleaner
Good to see him play right back, it gives us an extra attacking option. As long as he is ok defensively I'd keep him there. I didn't like that he played as our most forward player on the right, as he did before. Although it was a 4-5-1(?), his position in attack seemed to be similar to the forward to the right in a 4-3-3. No wonder we didn't look like scoring when we play a RB/RWB as a forward. Having two strikers, a proper winger like Snodgrass and Elmo going forward from RB at times suddenly makes us look like a normal team that actually can threaten to score! Keep it up!
KSV
Thought he played well at RB. Keep him there.. if it means we dont see Hutton.. or Elmo on the wing.. its a good thing.... 2 birds one stone.
rodders0223
Really makes me wonder why Hutton is still on the **** books draining wages.

Probably because no one is stupid enough to buy him off us! Didn't Sheffield Weds come close but backed out?
Eastie
Probably our best option at right back - looks comfortable there and solid.

Stevo985 Posted September 26, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted September 26, 2017 Has his critics, but another wonderful cross for the first goal today. He's so much better going forward than Hutton.
