I understand why Baker wanted to go, but terrible decision not to replace him with someone better than Samba. Problem is we have 3 experienced defenders in samba Richards and elphick and none are good enough .

As Average as Samba is, he' still some way ahead of those two salary eating leeches.

Not sure it's fair to call Elphick a 'leech'. He might not be good enough, but he hasn't disrespected the club. Richards, sure.

Nothing to do with them disrespecting the club etc because you could say that for Micha too.
Hornso
The one player we couldn't afford to lose for 8-10 weeks?

Demitri_C
We always seem to pick up long term injuries to key players Amavi kodjia and now terry. Bad luck all round
lexicon
I might be in the minority but I think we'll be OK without him. The quality of striker in this league isn't like in the prem, massively different in fact, and I think Jedi/Samba can do a job filling in for a few games. vreitti
Sure it's a big blow, but we should be able to cope. I'll not let Bruce have another free excuse for poor future results. Fact is Bruce has done terribly, if we're that reliant on a 37-year old with plenty of injuries these last few years. Swapping Samba for Baker was of course an obvious mistake. villan-scott Posted November 6, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted November 6, 2017 Can we play Bruce or Calderwood there? I think I’d rather see either of them ahead of Richards, Elphick or Samba. Although, hopefully, we may be pleasantly surprised by Samba finding some form!

LakotaDakota
Guess we could end up with some sort of 3-5-2 formation as a result of terry being out Hutton - chester - taylor as a back 3 with jedi/whelan in front of them and 2 of adoma/elmo/snodgrass around as wingers/wing backs
