FREE admission to season-ticket holders... BORO have added another home fixture to our pre-season schedule with an Aston Villa XI coming to The Coombe Abbey Arena on Friday, July 14th (kick-off 7.30pm). It will be another mouth-watering fixture as we prepare for the 2017/18 campaign and what’s more, season ticket holders will be able to gain FREE admission as per all of our home pre-season friendly fixtures (with the exception of the Boro Tournament). JOHNS (away) 19.45 KO Tuesday 18th July - COALVILLE TOWN (away) 19.45 KO Saturday 22nd July - LEICESTER CITY XI (home) 13.00 KO Monday 24th July - NUNEATON GRIFF (away) 19.30 KO Tuesday 25th July- HINCKLEY AFC (away) 19.45 KO Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July – BORO TOURNAMENT (home) Monday 31st July - RUGBY TOWN (away) 19.45 KO Tuesday 1st August - BEDWORTH UNITED (away) 19.45 KO The Boro Tournament is a prestigious six-team tournament here at The Coombe Abbey Arena that will feature teams from Liverpool, Jong PSV Eindhoven, Glasgow Rangers, Wolves, Coventry City and, of course, Nuneaton Town. Tickets for the whole weekend of top-quality action will be priced at: ADULTS - £40 SEASON TICKET HOLDERS -£35 CONCESSIONS - £30 UNDER 16’s - £15 Alternatively it will be £25 for a one-day ticket. Raver50032 Posted May 19, 2017 Share Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) I remember being at Nuneaton's old ground (Manor Park) in the 1992/93 season for the Birmingham Senior Cup game between Nuneaton (Borough as they were then) and Villa. Graham Fenton was playing for Villa. Nuneaton won 3-2 IIRC. Was strange being there in my lovely Villa shirt, but cheering on Nuneaton!! Might have to pencil this one in. Edit - no I won't... Thanks very much BOF, I looked on their website and it said 14th but having worked in Nuneaton and with some of the people who volunteer for Nun Boro, there is always an element of doubt. Villa squad is Borg, McKirdy, Corey, O'Hare, Bedeau, Viktor, Idem, Toner, Kelsey, Knibbs, Hayes, Prosser, Clark plus Abdo and Mooney Annnd Villa have just missed a pen. Not a good night for the kids.
