Telling people you don’t have Facebook is the new telling people you’re vegan

I never had Facebook before it was cool to say that :P

I want to take a long break from the internet because its a freakish horror show.

But then I'd feel cut-off from things I enjoy that I access online.

Maybe I'll just unplug for a month to see how it feels.

I went cold turkey from several things some years ago, which included television and certain on-line news sources.

As for social media, it is obvious that the whole business model is to create outrage and then monetise it.

The opposing sides of any division of opinion, whether it be the political spectrum or any other, actually need each other to create the churn, the contention and of course the money.

I think that the best starting point is to reach the logical conclusion, that your misery and stress are making people rich, or at the very least, preventing them from getting a proper job.

You might have less to say at the water-cooler but you will sleep better at night.

N.B. You will need something to fill all the hours you used to waste on-line, and I would recommend audio books.
