hogso
Like many others he was a part of my favourite Villa team ever, that being, the one I supported as a kid. Oddly my first thought of him isn't one of him in a Villa shirt at all. It's of him scoring that overhead kick for Rangers against Celtic. I also saw him score for England at VP in Sven's first game in charge against Spain. Top dude, RIP

Popular Post Wainy316
Such numbing news. What a terrible 9 months or so for Villa. That back three of Ugo, McGrath and Southgate might just be our best defence ever.
Popular Post StewieGriffin
Proper gutted at this. I went on a VP tour when i was about 9/10 and Ugo was sat at a table in the upper reaches of the Witton on autograph duty with nothing else anywhere near him - just Ugo, a table, a pen and a bunch of kids. Even 23 years or so on, I can recall remembering that he never once looked disinterested and he greeted each person differently - no standard "hello, autograph?" I remember him asking me if I played and I said I was a goalkeeper (thankfully I grew out of that, ironically thanks to literally not growing ) and he took 2 minutes to give me some advice. From that point he was my favourite player, and I was really heartbroken when he joined Boro. Rest easy big man.

How wrong I was as he was an excellent defender and was a rock alongside Macca and Southgate. Shocking if it is a heart attack at 44 and puts things into perspective for me as I am only a year younger. Good luck to the big fella. I brought this up in the pre match Norwich thread ,had absolutely no idea, a couple of weeks later we'd be mourning his loss . Heard it this morning on the radio, can't get my breath , " big Ugo " , you'll be sorely missed, RIP Holte Enders In The Sky.

Heart issues within football have only just started being picked up in club medicals. Look at Muamba - it wasn't that long ago really.

knoppy1987
Loved Ugo when I was younger. A very sad day. Even so, it is absolutely brilliant that he got to be a professional footballer and died doing what I would imagine he loved.
