I feel like what you're getting with Terry is so much more than a £60k a week overpaid 36 year old though. As a footballer, yes he may be on his last legs and not as agile as he needs to be. But christ, what you are getting is a man that has been Chelsea club captain for 10 odd years. You're getting a born leader and true influencer. Something that I bet 90% of people on this forum would agree we have been missing for the last 5 seasons. For me, signing two bog standard championship players who improve the squad slightly is far less appealing to bringing in a (very able) Terry and his many 'intangibles' - shall we call them. 9 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Rob182 Posted June 21, 2017 Share Posted June 21, 2017 When you consider that we're probably paying Gabby, Richards and Hutton close to £60k each (maybe £40k-£50k), £60k for Terry for a year is a no-brainer. £100k p/w would be a silly amount, but I could stomach it if we got promoted and he then left. He was a good player for us during a bad time. Now whether you feel his move was justified or not, most people hated/hate the way it all went down. Him coming here would cause so much controversy and conflict between the fans. He had some good spells but there is nowhere near enough about him to make me the least interested in him coming back.
