Only been to 5 of them...

maybe fortunately seeing as I had some really shit nights in Worcester in my early 20s (fights, general pretentiousness of people, getting ID'd the bouncer seeing Kidderminster and saying "**** off home" etc) I pretty much never go there, been there once in 5 years I think

the missus works there and does it every couple of months, horrible place

I'd say I'm about the same for tramps, sin then got popular but I went there maybe twice and it was awful, last time I went was on my Christmas do a couple of years back, walked out of bushwhackers after about 10 minutes of being in there, went to velvet lounge which was ok

Never ever been to Couture here in Stafford.

The Buttermarket in Shrews in a sideroom in the 80's and 90's I was there every week. It was called the fridge and it was the best indie night I ever went to. Put some exceptional. Bands on too. Most famously the stone roses.

I was a regular in my late teens  early 20s but it went by a different name back then.

Those are the only two I've been to from that list. Neither are great but I've certainly been to worse in my time.

Bit surprised there was no Wolverhampton club included.

Not sure how the place in Evesham doesn't make it on to that list (can't remember what it's called).

Marilyn's! Good Lord. Never went. Got mashed within earshot a couple of times.

The alternative spot was The Mutant Club above what's now the Old Swanne.

I went there twice. It was interesting, certainly. It appeared only slightly less inbred than a place I once went to in Ipswich or a Henley pub during the regatta.

Plenty of memories in there. Images/Images on Glass especially. No mention of Zig Zag's prior incarnation as Picasso's, though - Thursday (indie/student) nights at the very end of the 80s were top nights.

Was it not Zig Zags upstairs and Picasso's downstairs? Athough it was about 97/98 I'm talking i guess, I know I was at school when I went and think it shut down not long after that. I was meant to being going to Nicky Blackmarket but it wasn't on so we went to the rock night downstairs.

I don't think so when I was going (88-90) but it may have been as I wasn't taking much notice of the sign above the door (it was just what we referred to it as). I think Zig Zags closed when it got torched in the mid 2000s.
