Biggest lesson you've learned?

What's the biggest lesson you've learned?

I learned, and I'll sound like an arse, that it's not all about me. I guess I used to be narrow minded and shallow, but my eyes were opened by things going on around me, and working for an international charity and realising that kids are dying every day. It broke me and then rebuilt me. I haven't looked at anything the same since, it's just not about me at all.

And I've been learning every day since.

There is always someone worse off than you.

I was moaning about falling out with a friend earlier this week then I find out another mate has been diagnosed with throat cancer :(

always say yes, always volunteer

4 times out of 5 the project doesn't happen but you get the credit for stepping up

then you're remembered and get the foreign travel and bonus

I've basically built a career on saying yes to projects that haven't happened.
