Sinisa Mihailovic went straight from the hospital bed where he spent the previous 41 nights fighting cancer to sit on the bench for Bolognas away game at Verona

He's been following the day to day trainings from the hospital bed via live streaming and promised he would be there for the game.

Meh, if he was so dedicated he would have went to a cricket match instead 😜

Luis Enrique who hastily resigned from his role as manager for Spain has told media about his reasons behind it.

His daughter has passed away at age 9 from osteosarkom, a form of skeletal cancer.

Maradona off to a predictable start at his new club.

Quote

Maradona broke his promise to the new club - after one day

- I will be attending every training session, the football icon as well as new Gymnastics coach Diego Maradona bashed during his presentation ceremony.

Guess where he was the day after?

Not on the first training anyway.

Last week , it was announced that Argentine football legend Diego Maradona had gotten a new coach job.

On Sunday, he was introduced to his new club, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, in front of thousands of fans. An emotional Maradona stepped out in front of the fans through a gate in the form of a wolf head (the club's nickname is "El Lobo", the wolf in Spanish), went golf course on the field, participated in cheer rams along with players and fans and held a fire speech in front of their new supporters after taking over the Argentine league table last season.

Among other things, he said: "I will not miss a single workout".

However, he didn't keep his promise for a very long time.

When Maradona was to hold his first real training with the team on Monday, he was not there.

Not been a great start to the season for the Iberian managerial clique (Pep surprisingly still doing OK :D )

Watford, Wolves and Everton all struggling a bit.

That's not me saying they are bad managers, far from it.

Not a great start thou and football is impatient

Watford had Spanish managers

Right, I was thinking Silva was still there, which would be difficult since he is at Everton :crylaugh:

Saw a bit of WBA- Huddersfield in the pub.

Huddersfield actually played really well for good portion of the match. Typical championship game where you wouldn't have a clue which team was in top 3 and the other in bottom 3 if you didn't follow the league at all.

Howeve as soon as it got to 2-2 they completely folded and let in two ridiculous goals. That's why to me it's a really dangerous job to take in for the Cowley brothers as there's a serious losing mentality running through the club.

Watford deserve everything they get for treating their managers like that.

They aren't about any long term project. They know they have reached their maximum level so it's just about surviving every year and making as much money as possible. They think that by changing the manager regularly they get enough of a boost from the change to keep them afloat. Of course it's not a long term strategy but they have done okay to survive in the top flight for so long. Hopefully this is the year that is comes unstuck for them as we could do with another team that will finish below us.

Rodgers has got Leicester playing well, but he really does have such dislikable mannerisms. Watching him point up to the sky like he's a rock star playing at Wembley every time Leicester has a chance and he thinks they've scored. :puke:

We all remember the free flowing sexy football Everton played under him. Football snobbery is ridiculous when the resources arent available

Quote

“It is outrageous, the football they play, but it is allowed and they get the most out of their qualities,” Koeman told NOS. “I respect that, but it is terrible to watch.”

Northern Ireland counterpart O’Neill argued the gulf in quality between the squads forced him to adopt a negative approach.

“They bring on players like [Donyell] Malen and [Donny] van de Beek, who has been courted by clubs all over Europe, and we brought on two lads who play in League One,” he said.

“Hopefully people recognise that. It was a fantastic performance but ultimately one that was disappointing in the end.”
