Jones almost had a free pass last season because the club was in a bit of a mess. But the expectation was for last season to be the time he gets to settle everything down and then this season they would kick on. He wont get long if things don’t start going right. Glenn Hoddle did a good job of it at Swindon, then Chelsea. Funnily enough, Chelsea had 3 player-managers in a row in the 90s - Hoddle, Gullit, Vialli - and they all did a pretty decent job.
