I forgot one thing - Our boiler is currently in the third bedroom which we want to make the nursery. Ideally I want to move the boiler up into the loft. Been quoted £500 to £800 by the people who are putting in a new boiler for us this week. Not sure on what the implications are in moving it into the loft. The alternative is moving it into the extended kitchen.

You just have to ensure you have a good boiler that is able to pump the water sufficiently as it's an elongated system.
Davkaus
If you ever want anyone to agree to work on it, you'll have to make sure the loft (at least the area the boiler is in) is boarded, has a fixed ladder up to it, and has mains lighting. I'd also be quizzing them on the risks of the pipes from freezing to make sure they're taking precautions against it. omariqy
Hello all, me again. We have a small bathroom 2.2m by 1.8m. I need someone to take the old suite out, install the new suite, tiling walls and floor, a bit of painting and to move the waste pipe to the opposite side. How much should I look to pay someone? If you are supplying the materials add that to a day rate, Most trades are between £150 - £200 a day for labour mate (pending the trade) Always ask first how long it will take so you can get a general idea for yourself. Thanks mate when you say materials what do you mean? I'll be supplying the suite, tiles, grout, paint, fittings. What else is there?

Anything that will end up being a permanent fixture or fitting, The tradesmen should supply all hand/power tools however if a specialist bit of kit is required they may pass on the hire charge. omariqy
Thanks boys. Been quoted £2,500 by some people but that seemed very high for a small bathroom.

Last year I got a bathroom done. Corner bath, large bowl style sink with waterfall taps. Fairly big room (for a bathroom) with floor to ceiling tiles all round. Paid £3,500 all in including chrome radiator (towel warmer thingy), some worktops where the sink and dressing table are and they did it start to finish in 3 days (happy to pass on their details if you want a quote). Based in Tamworth but they work all over. Edited June 12, 2017 by Genie

Kingman
Sounds like a 3 man team, X2 tradesmen on £200 a shift and X1 General Operative on £100. Seems a long programme and expensive for the m2 work to be carried out.
