But of a pisser the club can't even sell him. Surely someone would pay £3M? We're a soft touch when it comes to surplus.

Who paying 3m for him? Their is a reason he couldn’t get a loan in prem when clubs were desperate for players on cheap.

The is no clubs with money in champ due to Covid that he would improve. They all lost so much and had no tv money to help.

all the foreign markets are suffering and he most likely would not go aboard.

the so many average players out there that can’t get moves.

The reason you just naming one club.

He isn’t worth a fee to them. A fee can get you lot more younger player with resale value. Why would they offer a fee for player nobody else is interested in buying. This move is good for Villa as we don’t have a player wasting on the bench. He earned us premier league status. I think we got our vaule

he is on about 35k a week. No Championship club can afford that plus a fee

This the last year of his contract? Anyways Conor has been incredible value for us. One of our more successful transfers in the Championship imho. Its not a sign of failure we are in a different place now than a few years ago and we want to go for a different kind of player, its a compliment to the work he and other players have done in progressing us as a club.

Good luck Conor!

?? He’s taken loads of fantastic free kicks while at Villa. He is a dead ball wizard, IMO.

This not meant as Conor slight but that 1 PL free kick goal has been done to death describing him as specialist.

This is the Albion play off game? His goal was from open play, it wasn’t a free kick.

Derby was a peach. Forest and Blackburn poor keepers and Newcastle in PL. Is there more direct I've forgotten about? Other players have in his time have done good in direct free kicks we've scored from

The one at Blackburn I was right behind - he bent it round the end of the wall, it didn't look possible. I was too busy celebrating to see if the keeper made a mess of it, but near post so it's really difficult for the keeper.

But it was also the delivery for indirect free kicks - pretty good if you ask me.

Replacement for about the 9th choice midfielder and the lad behind a 37 year old winger/left back in the pecking order?

I'll get my boots.

If he is 9th choice midfielder t hen why did he play in the cup?

Because of sentimentality?

Great message. Aside from those critical goals he scored, forever grateful for how he stood up or his teammates - grabbing that Leeds player who scored that cheating goal, was prepared to scrap when he needed to.

He was also in the middle with Whelan when Jack got attacked
