BMH looking like a class facility, it’s always been up there but so good to see it being developed further now. How good does it feel to be in such good hands? Heading in the right direction with a proper leadership team.

This. Having a good leadership team is as important as the money. That is where Lerner messed up, at least in the 2006-2010 period.

Yes Lerner did rebuild Bodymoor and did some nice things like the Holte Hotel but he gave O'Neill total control on all football matters. Big mistake. Spent millions on  players who could only  take us to a certain level, and minimal interest in the youth set up. Selling Davis and Cahill for Reo-Coker and Zak Knight for example.

He tried to bring in a ceo- was it Fitzgerald? , to have some strategic structure but MON had a hissy fit and he was gone. We never had a football person like Purslow controlling O'Neill day to day at Villa after they got rid of Steve Stride.

Then when Lerner tried to reign in some control O'Neill flounced out and within a year he totally lost interest. A lost decade until the new board thankfully saved us.

The proposed inner city academy  site (staff car park) was nearly flogged off under Dr Tony, we are so lucky that we have got rid of the amateurs and the chancers. These boys mean business.
