NulliSecundus
We've got our home form sorted (at least it appears that way!) Time to start converting these away draws into wins :-)
chrisvilla4
Difficult game but why the hell shouldn't we be able to beat them? Rotherham had a good go with 10 men. Would also be nice if McCormack gets on at some point against his old club might kickstart some form.

Popular Post BOF Posted November 28, 2016 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted November 28, 2016 It's a tough game by Chumpionship standards. They have been going great guns, although interestingly they haven't been good at home. They're 16th in the home league table with 4 wins and 2 draws from 9 games. Last time at home was a thumping by Newcastle (more than the 2-0 scoreline suggests) and at the weekend they barely got over the line against the league's whipping boys who by all accounts should have gotten at least a point if not more for their troubles. So all isn't totally rosey at the moment. Having said all of that. I fear no-one in this league regardless of whether we're home or away. I know we'll go there full of confidence and if the lads put in a shift and give Bruce what he wants then Leeds will do well to get anything. Would I take a point before kickoff? Absolutely not. We have 1 defeat in 13 now and are 7 unbeaten. A point is the very least we should be expecting. 2-1 Villa (because we don't seem to do regular clean sheets yet).

NottingVilla
Pre-match Leeds will be made out to be the new Brazil '70 or Barca 2010. We will then proceed to boss the match and make them look like a pub team. However as winning away is still foreign to us the match will result in a draw. There you go, Brighton all over again.
Lord Willard
I wouldn't take a draw either. We're Aston Villa, we shouldn't be scared of anyone and settle for a point. Obviously I don't want a loss but a win would be massive. They play tonight against Liverpool. Hopefully it goes to extra time then Liverpool put 3 past them before it gets to penalties cause that gives them too much belief. We'll be 'fresher', they'll be mourning their cup lost against a PL team. Their home form is terrible. Lets take the game to them!

A huge game for them 4 days before they play us could be the difference in the last 20 mins of the game. Our fitness levels have been very good lately and we finish strong. If they have to play extra time and/or pick up an injury then even better.

I agree and I think we will, that seems to be very much Bruce's approach. I also agree we shouldn't fear any side in the league we can go there and win. A win would certainly be a huge result for us in terms of closing the gap on those above us but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact a point would be a decent result either. Losing to Leeds would be damaging and Bruce I'm sure will be mindful of that. So far I think he has been finding a balance between team shape and structure giving a solid base and a side capable of getting forward and scoring goals. Confidence is obviously growing, different players are starting to score and we are getting tighter at the back. I think we can go and win this one and I'm confident we will.

Popular Post obanken
Really excited for this match. Flying over from Norway and besides the FA-cup final it will be my first Villa- match for a few years. Can't wait to experience our fantastic away-support! My prediction though 0-0
6065_Villa
Another late night/early morning for me, just hope we win for once on TV. This will be a tough game but I think we'll nick it 2-1 Villa.
Rugeley Villa
Leeds playing well tonight against Liverpool. I'm hoping it tires them out a bit for our visit on Saturday. 2.1 villa.
alreadyexists Posted November 29, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) Yep, Leeds not playing badly so far... Liverpool haven't got out of first gear, not sure how much is Leeds preventing them playing though, or just Liverpool being cautious. O'Kane has gone off injured too, he's not played every game for them but does start regularly as far as I've seen. Really really hoping for a 0-2 Villa... I have a feeling it could be a draw though, something like a 0-0 or 1-1. Edited November 29, 2016 by alreadyexists
Rugeley Villa
I'd take a point but I can see Leeds being a bit out of steam on Saturday. Tonight has proved they are a good team so it won't be easy.
