Walked us all the way to dudderston over about an hour and a half to be told train would be 45 mins, so we walked back the same way and into town.

Waste of time ffs.

3.5 hours after final whistle finally got a five guys down my neck

What a totally ridiculous thing to do. That's a pretty long walk,  suppose people were not fit enough to do it?

I think I would much prefer to just slink away.

Good on you spiezels,  glad you got home safe if not late !

That is complete bonkers, trains at Duddeston are only half an hour on weekdays so no idea what the poilice were trying to achieve....would've been quicker actually getting back to Aston although via McDonalds island of course.

Never done SHA away...no real intention to tbh as the home game is enough hassle but have to say after reading this about how away fans are treated I'd honestly rather buy a ticket in the home end.

Yes it would be horrible but I've watched Villa from home ends before so reckon I could sit on my hands...just.

Not having the freedom to get out when I want and having to wait hours to get home in 10 minutes...not for me.

My bro managed to slink out at macdonalds island which was the right choice but for many of us we needed to get to town. The police then started saying on loud speaker we "shouldn't push police lines or they were authorised to use force" HAHA!

I get it in one respect because I know a few noses who were updating me on where the groups of lads were waiting for us... so the police obviously moved them on.

But on the walk they took us we hit the 3 big islands that we could have dispersed into town on, there were plenty of folk who had to catch trains out of Brum that will have been missed and cost em.

Dont walk us 2 miles over 1.5 hours to a station to then tell us we can go where we want.

Just escort everyone into town. Most people just want to go home.

Shit stadium, shit fans, shit club, shit coppers.

You weren't supposed to walk back to town at that point, the idea was you had to get the train for a complete unknown reason, its just that so many ignored it and did it anyway they had no choice. We went left there, **** waiting for the train there was around 1500 Villa fans in that shitty escort.

It was shit, they should have closed the Cov road off outside the away end and let us straight out and escorted us down to the same Island, locking off all the pubs in Digbeth and the one on the top of the roundabout. Apart from them jumping on fences and taking a swing at someone from over the fence before throwing a coin **** all of note happened, as predicted.

Sounds like absolutely disgraceful treatment, tbh, I hope people will be making formal complaints.

If they have sufficient concerns about the safety of away fans that they won't allow them to just leave the ground with everyone elses, they should enforce coach travel from Villa Park, spending hours marching people around the city is **** ridiculous.

I would be fuming if I was made to catch a coach, and in any case it wouldn't make much if any difference, because they'd still need to clear the whole of the Cov road and the roundabout.

I just hope they get the same shit treatment as we did, hope they get an hour long lock in and a magical mystery tour all around Birmingham...

I squeezed out just before McDonald's for our lift at the IBIS.  Was I meant to have carried on all the way into town then?

Took an hour to even get out the ground, what a joke.

Not helped by them knobheads singing 'Aston Villa, we'll see you outside' during the game.  Idiots.

A couple of derbies ago, I got rounded up in an escort as I was heading to town and the same happened, after being let go near Duddeston, I walked into town. Not knowing the route that well I ended up going past The Woodman, I wasn't wearing any colours but must have stuck out like a sore thumb (probably because I didn't have an extra one) after unconvincingly saying I wasn't at the football, I then had to leg it from the group that questioned me and god knows how many outside the pub. I reckon I'd have given Bolt a race that day.

What annoyed me is the police didn't say anything about the direction the couple of us were heading in and were probably watching this all from above, as riot vans screeched past me and towards my new friends not long after I legged it.

That is literally one of the saddest stories I have ever heard.....The Woodman is a nose pub?  Tragic,  utterly tragic :o

It certainly was that day, I guess it wasn't a few years back?  The White Tower had a lot of attention from the OB and was wrapped up with riot vans.

We played Cardiff in a cup the season after I think, and some blues invited Cardiff to use The Woodman, which again drew a lot of attention for the police.

I've never seen a pub so locked down as the white tower, must have been 60 police outside it and about 10 vans, but couldn't see one nose.

little pub near the latour hotel had a bunch of lads outside staring everyone out so I just kept my head down and walked passed.
