I have sat on the fence with Bruce and have in fact probably gone too far in defending him but that was the straw that broke the camels back for me tonight. He had choices tonight to go with a balanced side, defensive or attacking and he went defensive. Hutton or Elmo at right back he chose Hutton. Two from Jedi, Whelan or Hourihane and he went ultra defensive and Jedi and Whelan. Go with two up top or one and an attacking mid behind and he went with the latter. Every selection was made with defense the priority in the Championship against Brentford who cost about a 10th of the cost of our squad and have a wage bill that wouldn't cover the cost of our six highest paid players. It was also noticeable how Brentford played with a game plan. How they mixed their corners and set pieces up while we were so predictable. Bruce has had a fair crack of the whip but we are only fractionally further forward than when he arrived and that is perhaps even debatable. Time to start again unfortunately. But unless there's significant improvement in those two games he should be sacked. Terrible. Bruce's ineptitude was partially covered up last season by Kodjia's goals, and this season by Adomah's. He has to go. No clue. That's where I'm at too. My biggest worry is who can come in and do the job well, though. It's a hard job with specific requirements and I can't think of someone who is a big enough name, can deal well with pressure and expectation and can organise a balanced side well. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
