Popular Post LondonLax
Can we please just play a classic 4-3-3 with 3 actual midfielders and two from our collection of wide forwards playing either side of Kodjia?
ferguson1
Subject to injuries etc, I think we must either play 433 or 442 and I'd go for: Gollini Bacuna - Elphick - Chester - Amavi Westwood - Jedinak Tshibola Adomah - Kodjia - Ayew Bench: Bunn, Baker, Cissokho, Richards, McCormack, Grealish, Gestede Could swap Richards for Gardner on the bench? Solid middle 3 and pacey front 3. Going to say a nervy 2-1 win.

Pretty much as above with the exception of Baker in for Elphick and Lyden for Westwood.

rodders0223
With 5,500 fans behind them I think this will feel as close to a home game as possible. How often do Barnsley manage to sell out? EDIT : Their average gates appear to be 12/13k. Nothing less than 3 points, ideally a good 0-3 win. TheMelvillan
surprised at the number of people leaving McCormack out of their starting line ups. One of the first names on the teamsheet for me

One of the first names on the teamsheet for me I want us to play 4-3-3 and yes you could play him as one of the midfielders but he won't track back much so it's essentially just the 4-2-3-1 we've been playing already this season. McCormack has been injured but it's not like we've been winning games with him playing so I'd put him on the bench and make him work to get back in the team. Big signing status shouldn't come into it. Anyway I fancy tomorrow as the night where it all clicks over 90 minutes....as long as it's a sensible team selection which I have my doubts. 1-3 win. Barnsley score plenty of goals at home so they won't sit back...should give us lots of space on the counter attack.
Popular Post BOF Posted September 26, 2016 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted September 26, 2016 From reading all the various discussions I think I'd like to see the following (assuming they're all available). I think Jack would do more damage inside and I think that front 3 picks itself. We seem to agree that Villa's problem is a relatively under-stocked midfield. All while trying to shoe-horn as much attacking talent as we can in up front. This solves both problems. We get to choose 3 forwards and Grealish can add a goal threat from midfield alongside Tshibola's inevitable marauding. Having the likes of Gestede, Adomah & Gardner's goal threat on the bench means there are plenty of plan B and C's there as well.

We've sold 3.5k tickets although pay on the gate so could get it up to 4k no problem.
VillaChris
BOF there is no way Grealish will walk straight back into the first 11 after all the issues of the last week. RDM will make him sweat it out on the bench like Garde tried to do.
