I know nothing about him really but hopefully he goes on to have his best ever years here.

Annoying that he (along with Ayew and Gestede) will be away for Africa Cup of Nations however. We'll be relying on Kazakhstan during a crucial part of the season.

This time last season Brentford fans was saying they had mugged Burnley for Andre Gray!! As he wasn't that good similar to what Bristol City fans are saying at moment

That worked out well for Burnley as Gray fired them to promotion!! Could be the same with us and Kodjia

Bristol City fans seem happy about the money. Such a weird stance to take, you just lost a guy who scored 20 goals for you last season. Sod the money, you've no time to reinvest.

Bonkers. Good luck to them.

Welcome Johnny!

Does seem a bit weird, but then again we should remember they put 3 past us without this guy even on the bench.

They can probably be forgiven for thinking they need the money more than the player.

This is going to sound really arrogant which is not something a Villa fan should be able to do as we have been so dreadfully poor over the past few years....but could this not be a little bit because they are not used to these kind of fees where as we as a club are?

Making a sarcastic comment about the owner after he's spent 11m on a striker.

Some fans :crylaugh:

To go with the £12m on our other striker, £12m (ish) on a new CB pairing, and around £10m on a new midfield pairing. Some people will never be happy.

Great signing.

Let's hope his first half of the season isn't that great (no Africa cup), and then he explodes in the second half.

We are Villa, so it will probably go according to plan, for the first half of the season...

We have signed 2 players that 20 goals last season, judging from this thread Kodjia wasn't most people's first choice (he probably wasn't even RDM's first choice), but you can't say the club isn't trying.

Just like McCormack in order to score goals we need to actually pass to him.

Brizzle fans genuinely don't seem to care he's gone and are delighted with the money. Being offside all the time seems to be the main gripe but we had that with bentekasaurus and he did alright.

Anyway, please be good Jonny.

Well clearly he's not the "world class" striker some thought we were about to sign, but at least we now have actual options on the bench. No reason writing him off at this stage. Welcome to the club, Jonathan.

Buying off the better players of our rivals - are we the Bayern of the Championship?

Is he proven? One decent season her and one in France and he's 26. The price tag is absolutely barmy and leaves no room for failure.

It's got to the stage where anything other than automatic promotion would be a huge failure in my eyes. 50m plus spent in the championship, whilst exciting, is insane.

Possibly not the ideal price tag, but a lot of money needed to be spent and I just really, really, really want to think that our new backroom staff have made sound assessments on what we need, damned be the money. And quite frankly, if we pull off a promotion every single shilling will have proved worth it. You got to try.
