ferguson1 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 We didn't lose the game and this time last year we would have. Take the positives, clean sheet away from home, starting to look solid and hard to beat. Just lack that spark don't we in the final third. 1
Kentish Villan Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 It's very concerning that there is very little understanding between the forwards, hopefully the "it takes time to gel" is true in this case.
Ryan. Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 No industry. Couple of snap shots from range with no real threat otherwise. Now back to signing players please!
PieFacE Posted August 20, 2016 VT Supporter Posted August 20, 2016 Terrible going forward imo. Still need 5 signings. Need options to change a game. MOTM for me, Grealish. Least he tried to make stuff happen. We play way too direct. 1
Neil Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Skip straight to the overall experience rating: rubbish
NoelVilla Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I take a point away to Derby. We are not finished according to Tony and we need additions to the squad. Not impressed with us going forward. To many slow players IMO. Elphick MOTM.
Guest av1 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Gollinin worries me. Chester and Elphick were brilliant. Jack and RMC good. Gardener poor Kozak embarrassing. Overall, good point.
Djemba_Villan Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I'll take that + We have proven that we can keep a clean sheet + We had the better of the chances, 2 off the line and 2 off the post is unfortunate + other sitters + McCormack showing good signs of intelligence - Squad way too thin - we need another striker and CM minimum

OutByEaster? Posted August 20, 2016 Moderator Posted August 20, 2016 Clean sheet is good news. We're lacking in confidence - we go into games looking brilliant, but if we're not ahead early you can see a tension growing in the players - that translates to a real nervousness late in games and today's draw will help a little with the idea that we're not always going to get caught out at the end of games. I thought Gollini, Elphick, Chester, Bacuna, Westwood, Grealish and Ayew did reasonably well. McCormack needs to pick up the pace a little, Kozak might be done, Gardner did okay but isn't able to dominate games, Cissokho has made a solid start to the season but looked a little rattled today. The main problem for the manager at the moment is that we don't have options on the bench - we need better than Green and we need two midfielders on there. I think our next two purchases need to be a central midfielder and a striker. 4
Niall Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Poor second half from Villa. Thank God for Elphick, really holds the defence together. Gardner and Westwood simply not good enough today. We'll improve a lot with Jedinak in the side and perhaps a new striker.
maqroll Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 tshibola and jedinak instead of westwood and gardner will make a huge difference...still need a #9 though

7392craig Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 No presence in the centre of midfield. Kozak had one of the worst performances I've seen in quite a while. Wish we could play two good halves for a change.

Some promising signs there, especially with such a weak midfield. And the chance Kozak missed! - didn't create loads but were unlucky for one of those not to go in.

Gary Thomas Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) We need some pace upfront and in wide areas. Look very laboured at times. Good point. Edited August 20, 2016 by Gary Thomas 3

Because it was. See the difference?
Popular Post terrytini Posted August 20, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 20, 2016 Ha some make me laugh. Do we agree RDM had a tough job ? Yes. Do we agree we need 3,4,5 more, ? Yes. So how can we be other than pleased with three games unbeaten, second clean sheet, decent performances and good fight ? Derby will be top half, Wednesday will be, Huddersfield will be. We are doing okay, with better players to come in, McCormack to get sharper, and players to gel. Im' very pleased so far. 7
