It won't let me edit the opening post anymore, i think the moderators have hijacked it :)

I may be wrong here but I think there's a time limit after which a post can no longer be edited.  Not sure what that limit is though.

Where did you get the £6m from?  I'm still waiting.

EDIT : And don't worry, I'll clean up the OP as soon as I have all relevant details.

just from the numbers being thrown around, including on Boro's forum where someone seems pretty certain it was £6m.

Can change it once we know a more accurate value :)

Well, quite some window.

Of the ins I'm particularly pleased with Elphick, Jedinak, McCormack and Adomah. Kodija, Chester and Tshibola all look good players for this level too - even if the first two were a tad expensive.

For me the jury remains out on De Laet and Gollini. I'm comfortable with our options at RB but I really hope we don't live to regret taking such a gamble with our GK - which is such a key position - especially when we have wisely targeted so many proven players elsewhere.

Of the outs it was a shame - but not a surprise - to lose Gana, and personally I'm sad to lose Okore too. His fitness was the only problem with him in my view, it seemed to have gone sour for him here but he was a good defender on his day and only likely to get better.

Who knows what will happen to Traore, we could look back in anger or in laughter, it's just too early to tell. I'm interested to know what kind of fee what got for him, but it's a hefty wage off the books.

Gil and Veretout clearly have ability, but I'm not sure they'd have performed at this level and I doubt we'll see either of them back here.

It's very pleasing to see the likes of Crespo, Richardson, N'Zogbia, Clark, Lescott and Bennett out of the door after so many years of underperformance. A shame we couldn't shift Richards and Gabby too but I think the former will have a role to play this season - the latter not so much.

Finally, I'm also delighted we've kept hold of Ayew and Amavi. They both have the quality to play in the Premier League, and hopefully they will be next season - in the Claret and Blue.

Well done and thank you Tony and the team, over to you boys...

Not happy about this out but oh well

  • Idrissa Gueye is proving to be quite the defensive shield for Everton as we predicted with the holding midfielder registering the most attempted (16) and completed tackles (12) so far this season.

To be fair, he did that for us too and had DM stats second only to Kante. It's just that the rest of the players around him were utter, utter toss!

If these 8 outfield players were playing for Villa last season I would think they'd have put up a much better fight of staying in the Premiership. Plenty of them have been successful in the Championship (putting it lightly) with a decent number holding their own in the Prem. The early results haven't been all that but the squad building is pretty damn promising to me. It smacks of logic, common sense and quality.
