There is absolutely no - as in absolute zero - "good" in Villa losing this game or indeed ANY game. We need to build momentum, we need to build a positive mentality, we need to start playing with the confidence that only comes from winning. This is not a time to be "concentrating on the league", this is a time to win and win well !!!!

I agree. Losing games has become the norm at our club and the only to stop that being the case is to win some football matches. I think it is vital we get some wins on the board early this season as winning breads winning.

There is no upside to losing this game. To start the season losing two games on the spin would just be a continuation of the form of last season and most of our squad is still made up of players scarred by that. We have to break that losing habit now.

This is a huge week for the club with 3 games in 6 days and we need to win all three of them.

Id play Gollini and Gardner to see if they can put Sunday behind them quickly. Id also be tempted to play Cissokho up to 60 mins then bring Amavi on. Other than that he should have a look at everyone else imo. If Kozak is fit it would be nice to see him get a game in place of Gestede.

                       Gollini
Richards - Okore - Toner - Cissokho
              Tshibola - Gardner
           Green - Ayew - Grealish
                       Kozak
Subs: Bunn/Steer, Hutton, Baker, Amavi, Lyden, McCormack, H-Murphy

Depending on fitness, I would start Amavi (maybe give him 60mins) and H-Murphy.

Would like to see McCormack given 30-40mins to get him match fit, maybe grab a goal.
