AVFCDAN
I don't think anyone is writing off the season after one game but its slightly worrying that all the same problems are still evident from the last 3-4 seasons. We still can't string together more than 4-5 passes. We are still carrying useless players who offer nothing to the team. We are still making costly mistakes and giving away goals in the last 5-10 minutes. We are still relying on Hutton and Cissokho to offer creativity and width. I'm struggling to see how we are going to stop the rot and turn things around when nothing has changed.
Harry
Bizarre refereeing decisions cost us again but so did our failure in the final third.
Jareth Posted August 7, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted August 7, 2016 Jedinak and a pacey RB, and Amavi fit, and Traore fit - and we will be fine. This league is shite if Wednesday is the best they have.
Ingram85
The season has started, it doesn't wait for us to gel or get our act together. It's 3 points lost.

Delphinho123
This week it was the keeper, next week it will be someone else. Elphick the only positive for me. We're still shit.

Popular Post Deisler123
1. RB and LB were very poor. I don't understand why they made so many back passes to the goalie. No quality crosses from them either. I don't see why other posters complained about the RB. IMO, LB is even poorer. 2. Quite a few times I noticed there was no defending in front of CBs during transitions. VERY poor positioning of DMC/MCs. Need a better one before the next match. 3. No one can control and hold the balls during transition from defending to attacking. This was exactly why we were so poor in the 1st half. 2nd half the whole formation pushed up, and resolved this problem. Need a good AMC/MC to hold and distribute the ball.

GNeeUs
1) Sheffield Wednesday will finish top 6 easy… we were away and lost to a very unlucky incident. 2) Desperately need a world class central midfielder. 3) If we are going to play Gestede the likes of Amavi, Traore, Grealish and Green have to play… a wasted player today. 4) Full backs worry me. 5) Fans really hate Bacuna… think he needs to go… was getting some serious abuse of his own fans. 6) Maybe the kick up the backside we need! Xela
Rome wasn't built in a day I guess. RDM is still looking at 5 players so lets hope he can get them. There are obvious weaknesses in the team but I'm sure they will be addressed soon.

This time, in the Championship. Yes, you're right, we did lose. And looked at in isolation the result was disappointing, although the second half performance was really quite good I thought. But I have to say I'm surprised by the reactions of some on here - not necessarily saying yourself. People all week (including me) have been predicting Wednesday would win this game, and then when they did, we're all shocked about it. Maybe some people didn't really mean it when they said they thought Wednesday would win. I did mean it. They only lost twice at home last season, were the losing playoff finalists, and in Forestieri have one of the league's best players. We are a relegated team with a terrible record who are low on confidence. I actually thought, particularly in the second half, we were decent in the circumstances. We now have two home games against two of the weakest teams in the league. Defeat in either of those games and I'll be being pessimistic right on with you.
terrytini
Your combined reasons. But then you knew that. Or maybe you only watch Villa and can be excused for not realising those are the ways most goals are scored.

useless
I missed the first last ten minutes, but I thought we were poor in the first half then much better in the second. Disappointed to see that we lost it in the end, but I think there were encouraging signs, and hopefully we'll add some more quality in the coming weeks. All the new signings looked pretty good especially McCormack.
