VillaChris
Wonder how long before we see the Faroes Islands at a major tournament? They're already in pot 4 for this group and won tonight 2-0 in Lativa. If they can beat Lativa at home and get the standard 6 points v Andorra they would have 13 points so wouldn't be far off getting 3rd with that. If they could get into pot 3 for the euros draw they'd have a cracking chance. Seem to be following the Iceland route....fair play to them. Zatman
International footballers again dont know the rules of football, Dutch attitude to the Koscielny "handball" is just embarrassing decent game so far though, glad Pogba showing his value for France and not United

I wasnt expecting much really so probably why i was slightly entertained. definite agree on Dutch team, your man Janssen doesnt look great. PaulC
Yes Robben and Van Persie were brilliant in the last world cup. No quality in this Dutch team.
VillaChris
Thought Van Djik had a good game...Dutch boys at the back were throwing themselves at everything so think they're o.k in defence as even in their great teams of 2010 and 14 you had likes of Vlaar and Johnny Hetinga so they never had great back players even then. All falls apart in midfield and attack though...Strootman ruined by injuries, Klassen is a good player in dutch league but lacks pace and clarity of thought at highest level and them hoofing it up to Bas Dost near the end was just tragic. I would still expect them to get 2nd, still have to play Sweden at home who still have France home and away on fixture list. Knowing Fifa Holland will probably get Lithuania or someone in play offs. villa4europe
that was the cherry on top by the sound of it, also sounds like ramos did the same and didn't get any criticism, pique's had grief for years, tbf he is openly pro catlonia and anti madrid so it'll come with the territory

They also have away games in Uruguay who have won all their home games, away in the altitude of Bolivia and last day they're away to Ecuador which could be do or die. Ecuador already beaten them at home. Argentina are similar to England a bit...terrible defence (had Demechelis still playing for them last night) and upfront Higuaín and Aguero are brilliant club strikers but both are terrible for the national team. They also make mediocre selections for coach...Bauza has had success in club level in South America but he's pretty defensive, Argies have far better options managing in Europe. I thought he did good jobs at Coventry and Southampton but both were well over a decade now and Football moves on. Was terrible at Boro in his last club spell. Scotland's problem is mentality...oh and lack of any good centre halfs. Strachan could well leave....but who do Scotland get in...there's talk of Lambert which sums up their problems nicely. Zatman
He did get Coventry relegated though, he is a good short term manager in that he can rally troops for a short period but over a period he isnt that great
villa4europe
Scotland's problem which they'll never admit is that the Rangers fiasco has been an absolute disaster for them, 2 horse race and 1 horses got put down...the competition was gone, their league is done, more of their yoof need to move abroad and by that I don't mean south seeking money, I would say Ryan Gauld should be the model but I'm not sure he's doing that well 10 years since they finished runner up in the U19 euros, 1 player from that squad has full caps, got to the semis of the U17 euros in 2014, they can't have none of them break through either, they haven't qualified for the U21s in 30 years, when the competition change comes in next time they have to be part of it
