VillaAsh
Any chance of a stats thread about the youth team from anyone in the know? Otherwise if anyone has got a link to the table it would be appreciated
OutByEaster? Posted January 13, 2008 Moderator Share Posted January 13, 2008 That table is hard to find! There's a thread on the main board with reports and results for the academy side though.
Tomaszk
I dont think the table is anywhere.
OutByEaster? Posted January 14, 2008 Moderator Share Posted January 14, 2008 It's on the Barclays Premiership site, search for academy and then there's a weekly bulletin this is the most recent (the table is near the bottom) but it's slightly out of date as we've beaten Leicester since then. altyvilla
I find Wikipedia is usually very up to date for both Reserves and Academy as most clubs seem to update their scores fairly quickly. Whilst we're fairly comfortable(ish) in the Southern Reserves section the Northern lot are having a nightmare scrap with about 6 clubs scrapping for top spot. OutByEaster? Posted January 17, 2008 Moderator Share Posted January 17, 2008 Arsenal game moved to Villa Park on the 10th March. Good news and bodes well for the small heath game at the end of the season.
OutByEaster? Posted January 22, 2008 Moderator Share Posted January 22, 2008 small heath beat Arsenal last night, largely taking them out of the title race. It could well be down to just us or Reading. The game scheduled for last night between us and Derby which was moved to tonight is listed on the Premiership site as being 4th February, listed on Derby County's site as being tonight and of course listed on our site as being last night. Our OS is awful.
Xann
Didn't I read that a couple of lads had left on loan - Port Vale have a couple, do they not? I'd find out meself but I'm on a really painful dial-up connection until I move house.
BOF Posted January 29, 2008 Author Moderator Share Posted January 29, 2008 Thank God it's the atrocious Derby County we're playing without 4 of our regulars in the team on Monday.
ianrobo1
Brian, surely it is better for the kids to play in the lower leagues than against Derby ?
BOF Posted January 30, 2008 Author Moderator Share Posted January 30, 2008 It is. But while they're away, the reserve team must try and stay top of the league. And no-one better than rock bottom reserve team Derby County for our weakened reserves to beat.

OutByEaster? Posted February 18, 2008 Moderator Share Posted February 18, 2008 Hoorah!! The OS "]Reserves Come Home Villa's remaining home reserve matches will now all be played at Villa Park - not the Bescot Stadium. Kevin MacDonald's men, in action against Chelsea at Brentford tonight, currently top the Barclays Premier Reserve League (south) and have four remaining home games. Monday February 25: Reading Monday March 10: Arsenal Monday March 31: Birmingham City Tuesday April 8: Portsmouth Great news.

OutByEaster? Posted February 21, 2008 Moderator Share Posted February 21, 2008 Chelsea away will now be on Monday 21st April, A full three weeks after the season was originally scheduled to finish. That's going to make it difficult (but not impossible) for us to celebrate winning the title against small heath at Villa Park.
OutByEaster? Posted February 21, 2008 Moderator Share Posted February 21, 2008 Reading and Arsenal have drawn tonight, that's good news for us. 4 points clear going into Mondays big game.
