Evening games I've given up getting the train.

My first train from Aston (to Sutton Coldfield) is impossible to catch unless you leave the game early. The next one isn't for half an hour and more often than not is too full to get on. And the one following is another half an hour.

So you can easily end up stood on the platform for an hour.

I went to a Real Madrid game last year. I know it's a totally different city and club, but i couldn't believe how easy it was to get to the ground and away from it afterwards despite there being 80,000 people there.
i'm not saying we can do the same, but comparing the experience of going to a game when it's easy to get to and from the ground is significant.

That is pretty ridiculous, I know its night time but at least have a capacity to get people home

when i once went to a arsenal game at the emirates its twice the size of our stadium but so much easier to get around. you have tubes that come every few minutes or a over ground that comes every 15-30 minutes.

it certainly needs massive improvement

Absolutely agree, the midweek games are horrendous thats why attendances i feel generally are poor midweek.

But some Saturdays have been equally as bad the Ipswich game took over 2hrs to get back to new street. I am sure this will be looked at. how can Villa Park be extended in a few years to 50k lets say for example with the existing transport links in place.

The midweek evening games where just horrible for trying to meet last trains etc. and sometimes meant living games 15 minutes early in order to not miss the last trains.

Tony comes from a background of regenerating and infrastructure and I cannot wait to see what's in the pipeline especially behind the dated North stand area.

one of the first partnerships the doctor signed us up to was with resorts world, could be something behind the scenes making sure we dont step on any toes (or even that they conspired to send a casino less star city under  )

the hotel, restaurant, casino idea only works if they can bring in people who stop over in the area, im sure resorts world dont struggle if there is a massive convention or gig on

Villa would need to do the same, we'll have match day (but do we really bring in the tourists?) we would need some office developments and international businesses in the area first

That is going to happen anyway. Birmingham is on the precipice of exploding as a centre for business.

Brexit is the kicker. I wouldn't be surprised if they're waiting to see how that pans out.

Yeah exactly I had this a few time shaving to leave 10 minutes early just in fear of getting home. really annoying that we have to do this in this era and how much money goes into transport. Yeah I would liek to think big Tone might help with that

Need a tram link to the city.

I mean look, if he's serious all of these questions will need to be answered. Luckily this isn't his first rodeo.

Absolutely. I always felt a tram is achievable. Why they dont have more trains running regularly at this age i will never know

Because the franchise know they can get away with running a shoddy service because we don't have a lot of choice.

Nationalisation will hopefully change this but we can't necessarily rely on it.

No chance are we leaving Villa Park. Everything that we’ve heard about the proposed development has been about improving the existing structure, Wyness even included the Holte End in that.

Add that to the club asking supporters about improving the Holte Pub, it wouldn’t make sense if the plan was to move.

Yeah this is true.

By far the worst thing about going to watch Villa is getting away from the ground.

It's not so bad for a 3 o'clock Saturday kick off. But an evening kick off is shit.

Its absolutely ridiculous, when you come away from the ground heading towards Sutton Coldfield, the traffic is built right up Lichfield Road to the M6 junction 6 roundabout, but soon as you pass that round about its fine.

The stupid thing here is that the traffic lights at the round about- they just run the same as any normal time of day. These lights are holding up thousands of people coming down the same way. As soon as you clear this round about its fine with no traffic all the way home.

Surely a conversation with the council can get the timing changed on these set of lights so they can be turned off for an hour to allow the traffic to flow. It seems such a simple thing to do but its been this way for decades.

Why can't the club hire the police and let them take care of the traffic at the round about? They do that after the games at my local club.

Those traffic lights have only been implemented recently? I am sure they weren't there a few years back and it has always been gridlocked on that Island.

I drive to the vast majority of home games and I’ve got to be honest, I never have much trouble getting away. Usually park on the housing estate just off the park junction on the expressway. Its 20mins walk from the ground, but takes about 15mins to get on the Expressway and then no issues.
