I heard there’s some miscommunication between different languages and also there is maybe something different in the different business system. We do control, even more than five, public companies and it’s just in different ways. And I know there are some other issues raised up as a lot of people are talking….actually I don’t care where they come from. What I have to say is ‘say too much is not good enough’, we need to ‘get things done’. That’s the most important. Q. We don’t know much about you, can you afford the club? How much are you worth? Do you have the money to do the things you say you are going to do with this club? Well actually we have deposited more that £100m in the account in England for now, which was one basic requirement by the football league. So don’t worry about that. I am a person who don’t want to be public that’s for sure. I want to stay much low profile and I can do something I like. But I have give this very much serious consideration to buy the club and I will take my responsibilities to make the club go back the right way, for sure. Q. So what is your net worth? Well I don’t account exactly how much it is but….[pauses, clearly uncomfortable with question]. What I can answer is I have more than 80 those private firms and a month ago I sold one for 4.2bn Chinese yuan. Q. One of companies (Lotus) posted a loss last year, does that have an impact on your ability to fund this club? No. We bought this two years ago from the Government and when it came it lost much more. And until the last year we actually had a positive EBITA and positive cash flow. But we have had to kick out so much [not sure] that was kept for many long years by the Government. So in the case of that company it is starting to earn money so don’t worry about that. It is just people didn’t pay much attention to the detail of the number and what it actually means. Q. Government connections etc.? I know many mayors all across the country (600+) and have good relationships with them. Also I know a lot of high level Government officers, but that’s not a problem. Q. Is the chines Government involved. No. I think people have too much imagination in that case. It is just pure business for me and for my company. Q. To sum up, what is the long-term plan moving forward? We have a difficult beginning or start. For now I think to be realistic we have to get the club to be promoted, that is the first priority. And afterwards we will try to keep this club to be at least as Villa did 10 years or so ago – most time in the top six and more chance to play in European games. Pilchard Posted May 25, 2016 Share Posted May 25, 2016 This latest round of press and communication from Xia has tipped me over the edge to being rather excited about this all again. It's VITAL he brings in the right people, manager etc (and with Moyes out of the running I'm a little worried that perhaps the right man isn't available) but I think his intentions are sound and so is business sense and resources - even if the 'culture clash' may make some decisions look a little odd at the beginning. He clearly isn't comfortable in the spot light, but has shown a nice willingness to front up to cameras, explain in a calm, rational way issues at hand. I dunno - I honestly believe that Samuelson is a financier pure and simple - if Tony's vision is to be believed then there will be a serious amount of infrastructure projects let aone players coming and going in the near future - he will be busy.
