Popular Post tonyh29
fairly sure players would get fines from the club for posting something similar , maybe even fined and warned by the F.A ? I appreciate he's ( or the P.A tweeting on his behalf ) trying to show the fans he's one of us , but I preferred it when we had an owner who said **** all tbh Edited August 1, 2016 by tonyh29
Popular Post S-Platt Posted August 1, 2016 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted August 1, 2016 Seriously it's about time we had some fight from the top. Let's hope it filters down to the players and fans. The past 5 years are nowt to do with Doc X he has had a month to fix all the wrongs. He has put his faith in the football side of things to RDM. Would you want him signing players like Wolves with no plan and replacing the respected manager with a patsy?
Deisler123
Regarding the 'lack of striker' issue, few weeks ago I was expecting Villa signing Graziano Pellè after Euro Cup and got disappointed that it did not happen and the player joined Chinese Super League... Uncle Albert
Im all up for a vocal owner, but that tweet was far to small heath for my liking. Were the villa and i dont want our club carrying on like that. get your cheque book out tony and let the team do the talking.

The guy is a bit of a **** as far as I can see. A poor one (relatively) at that it seems We had randy Lerner and Eric Black and we're relegated as one of the worst teams in the history of the league. rjenkins
The post was hilarious for all of 10 seconds, but I don't understand why a prediction from a half-arsed manager who used to be famous would illicit such a response. It's for the best it was deleted, but as a general rule I don't mind Dr. Xia getting emotionally involved in Aston Villa matters. I like to think the club is more than just 'another investment'.

Popular Post Morley_crosses_to_Withe
This whole takeover hasn't got off to the most exciting of starts and it just continues to fill me with concern. It was Lerner's sale and I don't believe that, after a catalogue of bad decisions, he will have suddenly got this one right. I know Hollis was heavily involved, but I doubt Lerner said to him "Steve, you go off and sell the club and send me the cash once done". Lerner would've most definitely had a massive say in it all. Something didn't, and still doesn't, feel right about it. There's still an element of mystery and don't know if I completely trust those in power positions at the club. It's more of a gut feeling than anything, but large parts of this doesn't seem to sit right. There's still too much uncertainty about his personal wealth and despite his Recon group seemingly being worth X amount, it doesn't translate to anything meaningful for us as a club. We've ended up with another 'poor' billionaire (if that makes sense). I also just don't know how much his success in business translates to the world of football, or sports even. He's no Robert Kraft, or Larry Ellison i.e. someone with a track record of building sports franchises. He might know a lot about health care products, or MSG, but aside from some big talk, and grand ideas, what does he really know about building a successful football club. That's a concern at the moment. And now we're less than a week away from the start of the season, and we're not in the kind of shape I thought we would be at this point in time; even Fox and his merry bunch of idiots had identified and signed seven players at this point last summer. I'd have thought with the big talk that has accompanied this takeover that we'd have at least one marquee signing by now, plus a number of quality signings in different areas, and a decent shedding of the deadwood. Instead there's some worrying comments on Twitter coming from the owner which seem to suggest we're going to rely largely on the players that we've got and the academy. I know that it's only been six/seven weeks, and there's a long way to go before we can judge, but nothing has been done so far to allay my concerns about who these people are that Lerner sold the club too. It's not that I'm lacking patience here, I'm just surprised that this is the state of play on August 1st. F1STFULL
Dr Xia is a passionate guy, can't knock him for that. Even though Holloway might not be too far wrong
jon_c
In fairness he's done very little so far to be judged one way or another. I'll try and hold myself to a season before overly praising or condemning him. (Although there may be something that happens beforehand to push me over in one way or the other)

HeyAnty
Say what you like about Dr T tweet but Holloway was being a t**l. There is not reasonable pundit who would predict Villa to get relegated or finish 16th in Championship considering the teams that are in it and squad Villa has. Yes we are all concerned that we arent getting rid of the likes of flabby but lets be realistic here.
