Wasn't sure where to put this but it looks like the non-playing/coaching staff are the only ones who have been doing their jobs properly. With a massive dose of irony, We've just won the Barclays Premier League Grounds Team of the Year award.

Grounds Manager Paul Mytton proudly holds the trophy, along with his deputy Karl Prescott, and assistant groundsmen Matt Jupp and Ian Hipkiss.

Also the playing surface has also been named as one of the best in the league.

Well done, lads. Let's hope you're not getting sacked for your efforts.

To be fair the grass never really got a pounding as our players barely walked around during matches nevermind tear up the turf. Some of the turf in my Nans back yard got more of a workout than the Villa park pitch and she can't walk.

obviously a bit of a joke, congrats to the groundsmen, outstanding job as they do every year

To be fair we've hardly played on it. Any truth in the rumour that we are going to be closing 20% of the pitch next year as we don't think we will be using it either?

Well done lads

slightly ironic that we win best playing surface prize while those playing on in deliver the worst playing ever seen.

&

The fact that better footballing teams have an advantage over us as the better pitch assists the better players.

P.S. One can imagine visiting teams practicing passing and ball control a whole week before they come to VP, while we are busy NOT practicing throw-ins.
