I did wonder why Reilly hadn't gone around the same time as the other two.

I suspect that Reilly could be the one doing the undermining Bernstein referenced in his letter.

My first thought was that the board had made contact with Lerner with some options for planning for next season all of which would require some financial backing from Lerner who has basically said no more money from me I am trying to get rid of the club so not a cent more from me. Hence Bernsteins plans cannot be put into place an King knows that the club cannot do anything until Lerner has left and resigned too.

It's interesting that Brian is still there bearing in mind he resigned as manager when he felt he couldn't do more for the club.

Give it a few days and Little will be gone too. I think we've only scratched the surface here. Should be a really fun summer.

That does not seem like a reason to resign over, that looks like a common sense move.

I disagree, and I hope this is twhat has happened as it's the best scenario I can think of. If B&K feel they can't make the changes they are there to make because everything is on hold - why stick around?

"I got on a plane leaving Birmingham at 6am on Thursday and who was on the flight only five or six hours after playing for Aston Villa in yet another defeat was Leandro Bacuna.

He had a little hoverboard that he was riding around the airport before scarpering off back to Holland for a day.

There’s so much disunity at the club that players can’t wait to get away to their parent countries whenever they get the chance.

They don’t have any links to the city, which is the problem when you buy players using the Moneyball system.

You’re buying them on statistics, you’re not looking them in the eye and seeing if they really want to be at your club."

Of course, Stan, it is down to the foreign players, not the good old British players you appear to converse with.

If I could have a few pints and a quiet chat with someone tonight, it wouldn't be Collymore, it would be Mervyn King.

Well if you have that particular requirement, then yeah, you'd struggle with Stan.

Didn't the club make an announcement last time we entered due diligence, due we assume if we are in discussions we haven't got to that stage?

Villa clearly want the media to report "Villa close to sale" and not "2 new board members leave already" that's why they've thrown that statement out.

Not officially. John Percy was given a story but nothing on the OS

If a sale was anywhere near close and Hollis was actually heavily involved in negotiations with a buyer; then why would they both resign? They would hold on for a few weeks and hope to forge a relationship with the new owner.

Perhaps they do not approve of the new owner; perhaps they do and may even have been involved in the negotiations, but Lerner has moved the goalposts.

Stan's really had to earn his corn tonight, he's pulled out all the stops though and I think we can now safely state that no football story is bigger than Stan Collymore.

Me, me, me, etc.

I listened for 5 minutes and that was all i could take.  He obviously has low self esteem.

I think it is not necessary, as Lerner is owner and it is not a public company. Not sure though, but other posters will know.

I think everyone will catch the "selective quotes" to suit their own agenda. It's been on for a couple hours and this is all certain people are taking out of it, hilarious.
