So who is he?

He used to be Citeh's chairman when they were really in trouble, and has been given credit for turning that around, and was also formally the FA chairman.

He knows football but also knows business and finance. He's a sharp appointment for us.

Excellent appointment. Surprised we could get someone of this calibre on board at this stage. Would be interesting to know how they managed to sell this deal to him, and what promises have been made to him. Cannot see him stepping into this without the confidence that he can make a success of it.

This apointment along with Brian Little throws up a serious question, when did Aston Villa last have a proper Board?, because to me this looks like we now have one for the first time in a long time. Aggregated with the likes of M King, I can't see this group accepting the appointments as Puppets.

The board was pretty good at first under Lerner, however MON wanted control over everything and we let him have it. Now we are in this position :(

But He and O'Neill had different visions.....O'Neill won the power game at the time.

Impressive football background indeed,  but this guy is 73 years old. Is he really up to speed on the modern game - it has changed a lot only the few last years.  And, are we trying to create a Man City alumni now that the Arsenal love in seems to have failed. Sorry, not convinced that old men picking up their last pay checks are going to solve the fundamental and enormous problems of our club.

Looks like all the money is going on the board, not new signings. Bernstein is 73, they must be paying him a amazing salary to come to this club, from working at Man City.

And this is after reporting we are making a loss and wages are too high.

Some of the board members should of been sscked first

We keep saying this.

We were surprised we could get Tom Fox from Arsenal. We were surprised Lambert chose to switch from Norwich. We were surprised Garde accepted the role. Each time we said that this must mean something is changing, when in reality it was just people getting a better paid job or someone unemployed getting a job.

I'm surprised people still get excited about people coming to this club. Until Lerner goes the club will always be run in the same way.

Fair point, he really ought to be retired by now...

Arrogance at it's highest order for me. No he knows nothing about the modern game. He sits with a blanket wrapped around him, eating worthers originals and watching re-runs of saint and greavsie. Get a grip.
