Decided to go for random genres, turns out that the ones that came up I hardly ever listen to, except for research purposes. But I had a go anyway...

Paris Hilton - Stars are Blind  (reggae)

Wendy & Bonnie - The Paisley Window Pane  (folk pop)

Wink D feat Candy Fresh - Get Busy (electro rap)

JoJo - Too Little Too Late (Rhythm and Blues)

Eliane Radigue - Backward 9,5 (new age)

If the demands there, I will do another five.

'Rhapsody on a Theme by Paginini' - Rachmaninoff (you may have heard parts of this in the movie "Groundhog Day")

Amazing Grace - John Newton

Back in Black - AC/DC

Run's House - Run DMC

Deperado - The Eagles (the closest I'll get to Country and Western)

I wouldn't say so, but I suppose it depends on how specific you go with the definitions. I think you're right in that there's a bit of an overlap between some of their music (otherwise I wouldn't like them both, maybe), but there's also a big contrast between other parts of their respective outputs.

think I can manage 5

Punk - No More Heroes  - The Strnaglers

Rock - Hey Hey , My My - Neil Young

Classical  - Canon in D  by Johann Pachelbel

Country - The Raphaels - Private Battlefield ( stick with it , it's just beautiful)

Grunge - Jeremy - Pearl Jam

probably not a very varied 5  ,but blowed if I was putting Rap in here

I suppose Paris Hilton and JoJo are the same genre as well, when looking at their respective oeuvres as an whole, Paris Hilton doesn't normally make reggae tracks and Jojo's more respected as a musician obviously, .

Interesting choice of genre there Pete. I would have gone for Post-Punk or even alternative rather than Electronic.

(nice list though)

Depends how you classify the genre's. One was new/wave new romantic the other alternate rock. Both have similarities I agree which is probably why I like them both.

Another five genres by popular demand, chosen at random (but still pretty predictable to be honest, lol)

Morton Feldman - Ixion  ⛄ (Ballet)

Sky Ferreira - Everything's Embarrassing (Grunge)

Raymond Scott and Dorothy Collins - Mellon Ball Bounce (Advertising Jingle)

Charlemagne Palestine ‎– SchlingenCassettenBlängen (minimalism)

Paul Bonneau - Extase  (Mood Music)

⛄ He has a few songs under this title. I'm referring to the version included on the 'Music For Merce' box set.
