bickster Posted January 29, 2020 Moderator Share Posted January 29, 2020 Who said this? Quote If Britain were to withdraw, we might imagine that we could regain complete national sovereignty. But if would, in fact, be a complete illusion. Our lives would be inceasingly influenced by the EEC, yet we would have no say in decisions which affected us. Closer integration was always on the cards, it was inevitable and talked about that far back. We didn't join the EEC in the hope that it stayed exactly the same as it was the moment we joined. We'd have joined much earlier if it hadn't been for De Gaul the ungrateful wretch

Popular Post NurembergVillan Posted January 30, 2020 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted January 30, 2020 Nigel Farage's Brexit night party set to flop as he's unable to deliver promises Quote Revellers at Nigel Farage’s Brexit night celebration are in for a disappointment after the Brexit Party leader was unable to deliver on a string of flashy pledges he made for the bash. Farage and Brexit Party chair Richard Tice promised “fireworks, bands and comedians” at the bash, to be held tomorrow night on Westminster’s Parliament Square. But the Mirror can reveal organisers have been unable to deliver on any of these promises. And Farage and Tice have warned revellers that booze will be banned. Both fireworks and live music are prohibited under the official permit for events on the square. And there are no comedians in the announced line-up of ‘entertainment’ at the event. Instead Brexiteers will be treated to speeches from Wetherspoons boss Tim Martin, radio host Julia Hartley-Brewer, Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry and Brexit Party MEP Ann Widdecombe. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/nigel-farages-brexit-night-party-21393272

Xann
Walking through the other near closed facility nearby is depressing. There's an island of people in one room in an otherwise deserted building, looking dejected, wondering if they'll be sharing the same fate as their redundant colleagues? Then I get back to my own base and I can't move in my office for kit that's come spilling out the shed. It'll be off to Spain next week. Actually I can barely get into the industrial estate at all. The freight company by the gates specialises in outsize consignments. They used to get two large pickups, morning and afternoon. Now they're all through the day. Reckon they're going to have to get a much bigger unit to contain some of the manufufacturing equipment that's off abroad. Were I 10 years older I'd consider getting into freight, but reckon it'll be a short term purple patch and don't think it would see me to retirement?
