But that IS racist (xenophobic) because it's demonstrably not true.

I know!

Just like saying 'Brexiteers want cancer patients to day' is also demonstrably not true.

Are we really not seeing how poor saying something like that is?

I'll rephrase it for Bicks

'Brexiteers accept that cancer patients dying is a price worth paying to deliver Brexit'

better? :)

Nope.

Can we go with 'Some Brexiteers are willing to pay the price of shortages of drugs that will help cancer patients'?

That's still horrendous.

It is, no argument there.

And that's the issue.

It is VERY hard to remain civil with people who think that way. Yet, these same people complain that they hate PC, and can't say anything anymore.

Yet you call them out for their bullshit, and they complain of generalisations and being attacked.

It's inconsistent.

No because all Brexiteers have to accept that as a consequence of their desires, every, single. one. of. them.

And if they don't, as @desensitized43 states, they just reject or deny the reality of the situation.

Either way they're not to blame. I hate a lot of them. It's not simply a difference in political opinion at this point.

I think there's an easy way to solve this...

We come out with no deal and those that voted remain get first access to all the food, medicines and fuel. We'll soon find out how many of the leavers really don't believe "project fear".

I don't live in the UK so No Deal affects me in ways I don't even know yet.

Well I guess it'll serve you right for "betting against Britain" by moving abroad

FFS we are talking about what an acceptable casualty rate is for Brexit now?!  That is talk for times of war, but there is no war here, there is no enemy invading, no guns being fired, the government are committing murder by policy, declaring war effectively on it's own poor, it's own sick and using them as disposable front line troops.  How many people pushing Brexit do you think would be willing to give their own lives in the cause?  The people leading this charge are hypocritical law breaking ****, happy to casually toss away lives, send families spiraling into heart break and loss whilst risking nothing of their own.  That they have the nerve to do this behind a facade of principle sickens me beyond words. They have no principle they have not demonstrably broken, no lie they will not knowing tell. Johnson, Mogg, Gove, Faragae, Cummings and the rest are unfathomable and transparently scum and I have a massive problem that people are seeing the same stuff I am seeing and are still happy to go along with them.

Careful, you'll hurt Leavers' feelings.

I moved the day before the original Brexit deadline

im back to not knowing if I'll need a visa, fortunately work are pretty relaxed about it because the lawyer they had to consult before employing me thinks its highly likely I would get one (I wont get citizenship, you need German to B1) but its still shit, I cant imagine what it would be like if you lived in the UK as an immigrant with a "low skilled" job

I would say people here are largely bored of it all and only really talk about it when taking the piss out of Boris, there's an expectation that when it finally happens nothing actually changes in the day to day life of your average German, a few ask me about tourist visas etc but I haven't got a clue, i expect it will be a 2 way street with a lot of peacocking, anything stupid Boris does will simply be replicated, if he kicks the Germans out of the UK I will be kicked out of here

I have read someone say that all people who voted leave are racist. Now they want cancer patients to die.

I really think that such a rhetoric is the key to success of people such as Farage, Trump and the growing movement of radicals.

Some regular people who might have voted leave or might be sceptical towards socialism or European Union in itself have heard enough crap like that and simply rebel by voting towards the other extremes.

Every action causes a counter reaction, one extreme leads to another.

As it happens, I agree that 'Brexiteers want cancer patients to die' is ludicrous and just obviously not true. However, I also think your counterargument here doesn't work, at all: if people's response to being called something unfair is to think to themselves 'well in that case I'll go and do something horrible then' then that doesn't say very much for them. If I (unfairly) called you a racist, would your reaction be 'fine, well I guess I'll go and say horrible things to black people then'?

I think different people will react in different ways.

For example, in the climate where we often hear 'brexiteers want cancer patients to die' or 'everybody that wants out is racist', there are people who wanted to leave but clearly don't think that, nor are they racist. These are ridiculous statements as you agreed.

If you are bombarded and ridiculed by such statements, and all of a sudden mr Farage offers you a helping hand by saying 'they are not right, you are not racist, Britain will be fine', I imagine many people might believe him.

I'm not saying that's a good thing, but I think that one extreme will result in people leaning to another.
