Gets to go full "no **** given" for the crucial votes in October 2. Ensures that if no GE happens before October 31st the throbbers in Johnsons government won't get to choose his successor.
romavillan Posted September 9, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted September 9, 2019 Incredible that Parliament is suspended after today, it's going to be a five week extreme online campaign from Cambridge Analytica et al on the leave side preparing for a national vote. The Brexit Company will be forcing home this "clean break" bullshit. Hard to see how the remain/anti no deal coalition can set the agenda with parliament suspended, they don't have a co-ordinated online machine like the Brexit Company and Boris' tories do. Shame about Bercow, speaks volumes that the Conservatives would contest his seat seeing as they are Schrodinger's government in their position on breaking the law or not, they don't give a shit. He's also seemingly giving zero ***** to the time taken for the tributes. 1 1/2 hours and counting so far with somewhat not impartial language against the government. We also have royal assent for the "No Deal" Act, meaning it is now law.

Nah, the whole of the Commons vote for it in secret. Traditionally it rotates from the 2 main parties. Given Bercow was a Tory, it should in theory be a Labour MP. If the vote is done before a GE; then it is likely to be a strong anti no-deal MP. Edited September 9, 2019 by cyrusr 2

desensitized43
MPs vote in favour of forcing government to release no-deal documents and private messages over parliament suspension RESULT For: 311 Against: 302 A reminder: This is not legally binding. But it would be a big deal politically if it is ignored.
desensitized43
Waiting for the inevitable response of "it's not legally binding therefore we won't be doing this" Ignoring the massive hypocrisy of the fact we've spent 3 years tearing ourselves apart because of a referendum that wasn't legally binding Edited September 9, 2019 by desensitized43 Typo
