To be fair will be good for him to get time off the bench. Personally, I would consider playing Davis and samatta with grealish behind them. (Or like a front 3 - a narrow front 3) I kind of wonder if a big battering ram like Davis (who can also play), with a ferret like samatta alongside him , and grealish behind them, might be a real nasty front 3. Like a 3412 or 343 with a narrow front 3. Edited January 23, 2020 by MaVilla

This is basically 352 which is horrible and no one has done since Keegan at Man City from memory. Our 343 is working well, 433 can work with right players back. Why are people obsessed with 2 up front when so many successful teams in recent times operate the 3 man AML ST AMR Edited January 24, 2020 by Kiwivillan

Why are people obsessed with 2 up front when so many successful teams in recent times operate the 3 man AML ST AMR Or Smith vs Man City. Everything comes round again...even big man little man. I guess it's all about having the right players. I could see it working for us with 2 up top and Jack floating in behind. Especially if we can get our wing-backs high up the pitch delivering good balls into the box. Although we've played 4-3-3 for most of the season I don't think we've ever had the personnel to do it effectively.

Don't think so.

I would imagne He’s faster than Mandzukic though , our forwards interchange, Tammy played wide at times last season, Davis is not slow and like I said from time to time not all the time
Danishlad
I like Davis, hope he stays fit. He brings others in to play and helps others perform better. He has a trick or two too. Which I like. Not a natural goal scorer but decent in the air. A good young player.
Junxs
I just hope this doesn't mean we wont be getting another striker. KD will most likely get injured again mid feb ending his season.

bobzy
Another handy little cameo IMO. I quite like him, even though he'll never be a great goalscorer. Application and impact always seems to happen.
Laughable Chimp
I feel like I'm gonna end up arguing for him to start over Samatta in the next few weeks if Samatta doesn't kick on. Everytime he comes on I feel like he's a significant improvement on the guy he just replaced. Pity he keeps getting injured. VillaHatesMe
It's not fair to compare him to Samatta today since it was Samatta's first time with the team and in an entire new league, but we were better with Davis out there today. He should have had an assist but Trez didn't finish (made up for it later!), and did a good job winning the ball.
Condimentalist
Great cameo (again). Such a shame he wasn't fit to take advantage of Wesley's injury. Edited January 28, 2020 by PatrickCousens
DCJonah
Great cameo. Such a shame he was injured. Would have definitely contributed during the 12 game goalless patch from wes
