MrSmirch
I hope some of the under 21's get a look in for this. Garde's been talking up Lyden lately, Sellars looked decent in preseason and Hepburn-Murphy seems to be scoring for the youth side every time i see the results (albeit, not that often). Surely they can't be that much much worse than Westwood, Sinclair and Gestede.
Rodders
defeat. I thought we'd have beaten at least one of newcastle, west ham and norwich, failing in all has eviscerated all remaining confidence. I am with the, " I can't see us winning a game again this season crowd"

I'd be quite happy if we started a team made up entirely from the U-18's and U21's, surely to God they cannot be any worse

Not holding my breath though. You’d like to think so but it shouldn’t have to come to him being backed in to a corner. We have to win games and that has been the case for a number of weeks now and unless something extraordinary happens we have missed our chance and let it slip by without really having a good go in my opinion. Sunderlands fans will expect to win on Saturday a rare expectation for them. That in itself will almost certainly be transmitted on to the pitch and you’d expect Sunderland to come out the blocks quick and look to attack us. For me we therefore need pace in the side and to have players on the pitch that can take advantage of the space we will find in the final third. We go a goal or two down early we are screwed as they will then sit back and that won’t allow us the space we will need to create and certainly the kind of space Traore needs to be effective. He therefore has to start the game for me as does Gestede, and at least one of Grealish and Gil. I’d personally go 4-3-3 with two of Veretout, Gana or Sanchez sitting and Gil just in front with Grealish and Traore either side of Gestede up top and allow Gil, Grealsih and Traore to interchange. There is no point in us playing a defensive side hoping to keep it tight and nick a goal. It has been shown on numerous occasions due to our continual defensive errors that simply doesn’t work for us. Sunderland are a poor side so lets have a go at them.
calcifer
Xmas maybe over but Villa will still be in the giving mood. 3 points for Sunderland and another nail in the coffin for this sorry Villa side.
AndyM3000
We will win just to give us that tiny bit of hope. That's what Villa do, make it painful for as long as possible.

BOF Posted December 31, 2015 Moderator Share Posted December 31, 2015 Surely we're good enough for a draw. Even without Ayew. I reckon Gestede bags one or two just to make his point.

DCJonah
The worst defence in the league. Let's be positive with the team selection. Best chance to win a game for a while.

KSV
Surely we can't be afraid of Sunderland. We need to play traore and Grealish and just try out score them. If we can't beat Sunderland with their injuries I'm afraid we wont win again this season
