I guarantee the striker will not be world class.

Oh, I don't know. There's been several individuals at Villa over the last few years (some still at the club) that could be described as world-class *.

*Not as dedicated professionals at a football club, though.

According to stats I saw Hernandez averaged more than a goal every two games last season.

yep I guess last season he was, but the rest of his career definitely not - 25 goals in 67 appearances at Hull, but there could be reasons for that

ASTON VILLA TO TABLE BID FOR ABEL HERNANDEZ

Aston Villa are to table a bid for Hull City striker Abel Hernandez according to a report.

Fichajes report that the Villans are set to make their move for the Uruguayan international as they look to complete the restructuring of their squad with a number nine striker and a full back.

It is said that the Midlands side will look to make Hernandez a Villa player in the coming days with other reports saying he is unhappy with the current squad situation at the KC Stadium.

Hernandez joined the Tigers when they were last in the Premier League between 2014/15 from Palermo, but he failed to save them from the drop.

He was top scorer with 19 goals last season for Hull as they returned back to England’s top flight at the first time of asking.

Aston Villa’s owner Dr Tony Xia said this evening how he was hopeful of signing two more men this week with one being a striker.

Depends how you define it. I think it simply means an international (or former international), rather than "one of the world's best players".

Well there you go. Since when has being an international footballer been anything close to world class.

Itl be the Dr with one of his wild statements.
