Albums of the Year 2015

Recommended Posts

Jamie T probably just pips foals, both are great albums but I wasn't expecting that from Jamie T, he's still managed to keep his rough edge but added a load of polish to what he does, change of direction for the better, some stunning lyrics

Foals I expected to be brilliant and it is

I don't normally have an outright favourite album of the year, but this year I do.

I'll have a think about it, and come back and let you know what else makes my 2015 list.

Heavy things. Some of them really heavy.

I have a pal, Marc, who's the drummer for Colibra - a band who do "Heavy things. Some of them really heavy". Their music is here link to music . It's not totally my C of T, but they're pretty good. You may well love it, Chris.

I'll check that out, fo sho.

I'm working on a list for something else. Might throw it in here when it's set in stone.

Do re-releases count? Probably not.

For new albums I'll say Kurt Vile followed by Foals and New Order a distance behind.

Wooden Spoon goes to Richard Hawley. Must do better.

Drake's If You're Reading This You're Too Late is easily my favorite of the ~10 or so albums I heard this year. The year blew by, still can't believe it's almost 2016.

Also this has just recently been released. Can't find it on digital download anywhere, so I've bought the CD. Yet to get it and give it a listen, but have heard one of the tracks and it's very good. The album has had very good reviews though. I believe it's the KLF comeback, as the FLK.

Of the more mainstream albums I'd go for The Foals, The Slaves and The Bohicas

Got a load more random bands, but wont bore you with them !

Not that many new releases I've been interested in (still collecting old stuff) but what I did get:

Brian Wilson - No Pier Pressure

Halestorm - Into The Wild Life

Lindemann - Skills In Pills

Slayer - Repentless

Buckcherry - Rock N Roll

Todd Rundgren - Global
